Traveling back east today, had no idea the SJU vs SJU game was on so early so might miss the beginning. Go Johnnies, the REAL SJU!

2 absolute monster games at the Mohegan Sun. It's tough to call a December game a must win, but for both St John's and Providence, it's as close to it as possible... For St John's they'd have 3 losses with Duke still left OOC. For Providence, it'd be loss #4. 4 losses makes it where 9-9 probably isn't even enough for the tourney.

The Providence/Houston game is huge on both sides. Houston has improved quite a bit. A win tonight for them would put them in prime place to be tourney team #5 from the AAC. Before you complain- it's all about records..... The AAC could wind up with:
Wichita 24-6
Cincy 25-6
SMU 23-8
Temple 18-12 vs #19 SOS- a 37.6 RPI
Houston 21-9- a 46.2 RPI

Must get the W here to go 10-2 which keeps us right on track for tourney and 0 bad losses which is a huge turnaround from last year. Desperately wishing that Ponds finds his stroke, because without LoVett and Ponds in a major slump, no game is a gimme right now. Our defense has been what has kept us in games and just getting by to win, but adding solid offense is what will give us separation and some cushion in games. We are taking teams that are usually good on offense and holding onto the ball and getting them flustered. We need to keep doing that and we need to make our easy baskets which was a major issue all year. It seems guys like Ahmed and Simon (as good as he's been overall) have poor touch around the rim and they should be using the window on the glass...no need to make it look pretty just get the ball in the hoop. Really curious to hear the real story about LoVett, because he's certainly not "day to day" as we were told nearly a month ago. He has missed 5 games and this will be his 6th. I'd rather staff be honest if he's going to be out 3-4 games into conference play or if he's really a week or so away like they say.

Sounds like PC is pretty banged up. They really need this win though.

Speaking of injuries, how are JP and the others on X doing? Are any of the injuries severe? Close call vs. Marshall. Hope they are ok.

I think there’s a good chance they’ll be back by Friday. Jp and Kaiser both had concussion symptoms and naji tweaked his back.

The real SJU should handle SJU(PA) handily. We squeaked out a win at their place this year, but you guys should score at will on them.

PC needs to right the ship. Was really expecting big things from them this year but just hasn't materialized for them yet. There's time but things won't get any easier for them starting next week.

Friars without Cartwright, Diallo, White and of course Holt. Need others to step up big time or the game could get ugly.
