Marquette sweating it out against voteless DII Lindenwood.

Let's see who Georgetown finishes ahead because "certain teams" aren't that good (these are the teams he "feels" the Hoyas could finish ahead, folks: Depaul, Butler, St. John's, Marquette, and Creighton). You talked trash about Providence early last season, only to get swept. You don't ever learn, big mouth. The past two seasons should've taught you lesson, but I see it hasn't. I think you'll be absent on this board, similarly to last season, during most of the college hoops months.

It's good to have you around and run your mouth. You always end up eating your words (along, with ducking and hiding), and I'll be there, per usual, to make sure you choke on those words.

Rutgers isn't as awful as they were during the Eddie Jordan years and prior. They should actually be fairly decent in the Big Ten this season. It's a game St. John's should have won, but stuff happens, especially in college basketball/exhibition season.

Auburn, who is more highly rated in KenPom than St. John's lost to a D2 team. The 2010 Syracuse team lost to LeMoyne College before the season began and that team wound up with a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Agree, Irishdawg. Although, I would've had liked for the Johnnies to have continue their thumping of Rutgers and get the win. In no way, do I believe this means a down or poor season for the Johnnies. I'll be here (and, hopefully, the fans of the teams he disrespected) to give "Mr. Big Mouth" his dose of medicine throughout the season.

Rutgers' Steve Pikiell (sp) is actually a good coach.

Ouch. This was a game SJ was handling for much of the 1st half and it looked like at any time we could break it open and get some separation. Every time we tried to pull away they went on a run via Freeman essentially their entire team today. Our lack of size is proving to be a real problem and once again tons of easy pts for the opponent in the paint. Lots of second chances too. Things we did well were scoring in transition and converting off turnovers, but our FT shooting was 58% which is unacceptable, and our shots were not falling. We have no post presence whether on offense or defense. Seems like we are going to win a few shocking ones i.e. Cuse when we are red hot on offense since defense won't matter, but struggle mightily when they are not falling at a high rate. Simon and Clark definitely make this team better, but we are in dire need of 2 more BIG bodies who can rebound and defend without trying to block everything. This game was concerning, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't be good this year. I think it can be overcome and 18 wins is reasonable.
