Home court (non) advantage

Since the turn on the century, game location has become progressively more irrelevant. On its current trajectory, it won't even be a factor in the not-so-distant future.

I'd imagine the big home court totals before the modern era had more than a little to do with locally sourced referees.

I wonder if this might also be impacted by the use of charter flights as opposed to commercial air travel/ground travel as well. Let's be honest - the charter flights go along way toward removing a lot of the hassles that come with travel. Prior to the modern era, teams routinely took lengthy bus rides to play opponents.
