Travis Ford has Saint Louis Recruiting at an Unprecedented Level - Jeff Eisenberg - The Dagger - October 26, 2016
Saint Louis’ Travis Ford has been out-recruiting both Dayton and VCU. The Billikens’ immediate future looks very bright, but the 47-year-old Ford played basketball for Kentucky, and was head coach at Oklahoma State for 8 seasons. Ford has no previous ties to Saint Louis, and may be eyeing a return to big-time basketball if he is successful in rebuilding the Billikens into an A10 contender.

ST. LOUIS • Staff and administrators at St. Louis University are expected to find out Tuesday whether they are among the roughly 4 percent who will lose their jobs. That 4 percent represents about 120 employees, according to a campus-wide email from SLU President Fred Pestello on Friday. The impending layoffs have been a much-discussed issue on campus for months as school leaders addressed an ongoing budget crisis.
SLU faces a $16 million budget deficit from this past fiscal year after a decline in enrollment and an uptick in expenses. The trend is projected to continue unless cuts are made, according to university leaders.
More than 2,250 first-year students from 41 states and 16 countries begin classes Aug. 23.
“We are excited for this record-breaking class to join our Flyer family,” said Jason Reinoehl, vice president for strategic enrollment management. “They chose the University for its strong national reputation as a top-tier Catholic research institution and we look forward to helping them use their education and experience at UD to make a positive impact on the world.”
On the cusp of its 60th anniversary, the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) has extra cause for celebration: a record-breaking year in annual sponsored research and significant milestones reached in cumulative sponsored research and employee population.
For the first time, researchers at UDRI performed more than $100 million in research and development in a single year. Combined with research performed by faculty, sponsored research at UD totalled $117.6 million in fiscal year 2016 – a leap of nearly 20 percent more than the previous year – pushing cumulative sponsored research past the $2 billion milestone. To put a little icing on the anniversary cake, the number of employees working at UDRI topped 500 for the first time as well.

This is a thread about Catholic Basketball Schools, with a lot of information about Butler University on Page 3.
On Page 2 of the thread, you can read posts about The Dominicans' and Jesuits' roles in the Spanish Inquisition, Tomás de Torquemada, Drawing and Quartering, Guy Fawkes, great Bourbon, Papal Suppression of the Jesuit Order, and Braveheart - none of which drew any objections.
But the trophy for the Most Off-Topic Post on the thread to date goes to this post, which isn't even correct:On July 12th, DudeAnon wrote:billyjack wrote:
