DD is surprisingly a bad one on one defender. I think he lacks lateral foot speed. and he turns the ball over too much when he's trying to create. and he's an avg shooter. One thing he has over Booth is his athleticism and upside, but I would take healthy Booth over DD right now.

I love Ponds especially but if comparing he and Lovett to those two, I'll take the Jays. Not sure that's a true backcourt though. Is Thomas a true PG or are they both off guards? I really like KT's full package. Really nice player and offensively Foster can light it up as much as Ponds can or more.

I think I'd take Cartwright and Diallo and Brunson / Booth over the SJU backcourt when considering both sides of the court. But a good debate...

I think cartwright is one of most underrated guards in country but come on.

Thomas is better than Foster, I think he will make a very strong case for best guard in the conference. If he tightens up his handle and knocks down threes, its game over. He's definitely a 2 guard, but a damn well rounded one at that - great defense/rebounding, good IQ/passing, decent shooter

There will be a ton of really good off guards in the conference next year.

X is returning 90+% of their scoring from an Elite Eight team, the best recruiting class in history, plus a potential POY in Bluiett. Sorry, I don't see them finishing 4th in the BE.

Acutally X isn't returning 90+% of their scoring....

they lose-
Summer- scored 314 points
Gaston- scored 280 points
Bernard- scored 250 points
you add that up and that's 844 points

Xavier scored 2836 points.

So they're right around 70% returning for next year.

We'll see how that car runs with a new engine the whole season. They did great in the NCAA without the advanced scouting, the round robin schedule exposes all warts. Well se what happens when Goodin's game is picked apart in the BEAst grind. On paper, they are the best team, but I'm not sleeping on veteran Nova & Hall teams. I'm definitely not sleeping on Cooley's coaching ability with his most talented and experienced roster to date.

Saying all this, they could go to the *Final 4 but standings in the BEast are a whole different animal.

*Two examples off the top of my head of teams that didn't dominate the league their respective years.

i mean quentin played basically the entire conference season last year. this team will have 4 seniors, 3 who've played all 4 years in the BE, a junior, and two sophomores who both played significant minutes last year. we could be the most experienced team in the league behind seton hall.

both of those teams lost a lot more than we did (Kemba Walker, Ed Pinckney).

It was just an example of teams that didn't dominate their conference and went on to win a Natty, just saying Xavier or a few others (in our league) have that chance. We are going to beat each other up and expose ourselves in conference to get stronger for the NCAA's. Sorry if this wasn't relayed properly the first time. We'll see how Goodin responds when others know he is the guy and have a chance to prepare. Not saying he won't, but we'll see.
