Tough Break For The ACC...

Too bad their Super Bowl - Duke v UNC - is stuck over on the JV court in Brooklyn, competing directly against Villanova v Seton Hall on the big stage at MSG. Sure, ESPN will win the TV ratings because it always does, but the Big East will win attendance and NYC's attention.

Duke-UNC did set the Barclays Center record for attendance. I can't speak for how the ACC is getting NYC attention compared to the Big East.

BTW, I kind of agree with what Boeheim said about the ACC tournament's location. Greensboro is just a silly place to have it. G'blro isn't big at all compared to the alternatives, and the arena isn't within walking distance of anything. It should rotate among Brooklyn, Washington, Atlanta, and I would include Charlotte.

The Big East should work on a contract extension with MSG because that event is as crucial to the identity of the Big East as the Rose Bowl is for the Big Ten and Pac-12.

Just FYI michael. Duke-UNC is gonna draw anywhere you put it. But the Barclays record tonight was still 2k less people than what we had tonight at MSG Villanova vs SHU. The Big East will continue to draw and the city can be shared. No big deal. I do agree that MSG is part of the identity, but even sharing MSG wont be the end of the world. Losing would hurt, but is unlikely if the Big East continues to sell out and compete well

For the record, my post was in jest. I never doubted that Duke-UNC would be a huge draw at Barclay's Center.

Gotta love ESPN trying to say that Notre Dame has redeemed themselves from never having played in the Garden on Saturday Night on Championship week.

No...you're still in the bridge-and-tunnel crowd.

I like the Rose Bowl analogy. You're saying it just reeks with tradition. 8-)

Haha nothing against the borough, my mom's from Brooklyn. I meant to be taking a shot at the arena.

Maybe I know your mom. Brooklyn's like a small town. Everyone knows everyone. What HS did she go to? What parish was she from?
