To be fair, I think Villanova's team this year is arguably better than last year while Seton Hall certainly took a step back. That's not to say Seton Hall can't win, but it would certainly be more of an upset than it was last year.

But you know Hall you guys might be better suited for a run this year. For everything that IW provided, I think that team may have relied on him too much. Look at the Gonzaga game. He couldn't make a shot yet he kept taking them to the tune of 4-24 (0-10 from 3). When your star struggles, young teams fold. When older, more balanced teams have one guy struggling there are others that can pick up the slack. You guys just need a favorable matchup or two next week and why not make a run. There are worse teams that have done major damage in the tourney.

sometimes we see after a team wins a game like last night for Xavier they come out blazing the next games- relaxed and with no pressure. will be interesting to see if that's the case..

I agree, Seton Hall is much more balanced this year and less prone to getting beat by 1 guy's bad day, but they really miss Whitehead's outside shooting (despite the 0-10 against Gonzaga). He was a guy we could regularly count on to hit a big shot (particularly a big 3) when we needed it most and that was a big reason why the Hall was able to beat Villanova last year. After a poor 1st half, Nova spent the whole second half taking runs at Seton Hall's lead and every time it looked like they were gonna get over the hump and take over, Whitehead hit a clutch shot to half momentum. We may be better equipped this year to handle teams at or below our level, but I think last year's team was better able to compete with and beat an elite opponent like Villanova.

For Seton Hall to win tonight, they either need to have an unusually hot shooting night (unlikely considering they're a poor shooting team in general) for Nova's threes to not be falling. It may even need to be a combination of the two.

Serious response: you need to pick between the notion that they're tired or that the Xavier Mojo is back.

Frankly, I think they're rolling again.

On the flip side is the fact that Creighton is a very good team and that it's another ball game. So, who knows what will happen.

The Pirates are too aggressive defensively right now. I like the effort but they've given a few needles fouls already. And I thought Brunson got some NBA continuation.
