That is a badass site.

I really like this guy for a couple of reasons. First, he has 7 Big East teams "safely in." Gotta raise a glass to that. 8-)

Second, he has Syracuse in his first 4 out. That gives me a nice warm feeling because it can only mean that St John's cost the Orange a bid. If Syracuse wins that game, they're in. To think, this could be Boeheim's last season and he could go out with a bitter taste in his mouth because the Johnnies blocked him from the tournament. Oh, the pain. The humanity. Cry me a river.

Here you go.

Yep, that's it. Read my post. After reading it, tell me what your point is. :?

The point is the same as yours was to kayako, your just as guilty as anyone else of taking these sites "seriously". We all do it this time of year, we all have our own favorite bracket/seeding sites and bracketologists. Apologies if that response was in jest, but then again if that's what your point was, then so was mine.

If you've read my posts to Stever over the past 6 weeks or so, then you know that I don't take bracketology seriously. But it's all good either way. 8-)

That might be the problem, who bothers with stever anymore? That's time wasted that you'll never get back. :D

As far as chance of bid% goes, I like the "dance card" much better personally.

Bracketology? It's not hard for most "bracketologists" to get 65 or so teams correct, but if you're expecting correct seedings and matchups, it's pretty much crapshoot as you say. I am just interested in where the BE teams stand, and the last few spots up for grabs. This is the first season that my two interests are aligned since the formation of the NBE.

Thanks for the link. He sure has an interesting take on things. Gonzaga drops to a 4-seed? Gotta like a guy who puts 2 of our teams on the first line. :D

I think that of all years there are going to be some surprises this season. The remaining games will be very important.

Today's TeamRankings Results

#1 Villanova (#2 overall)
#1 Butler (#4 overall)
#6 Creighton (#24 overall)
#10 Providence (#40 overall)
#11 Xavier (#41 overall)
#12 Seton Hall (#49 overall)

Marquette - out

I think Butler is still a little high. They're flirting with a #2, but they aren't a #1. Providence is a little closer to the bubble if you ask me. Also, I think Seton Hall and Xavier are a little safer than advertised. Hall's win last night was big for the NCAA ambitions.

Whether we get 5, 6, or 7 in, one thing is for sure: someone not named Villanova better do something or we will build a reputation for being a 1 trick pony...Nova and everyone else. Would be nice to see Butler and Seton Hall make the Sweet 16 which I think is possible. Creighton was my darkhorse Elite 8 pick until Watson went down. If everyone was healthy I really think 3-4 Big East teams could have made the Sweet 16. I'm getting nervous that Nova will be upset early (hard to follow a run like that last year) and no one else will step up.

At this point, I really only see Nova and Butler having legit 2nd weekend ambitions. Creighton and X could easily have been there without the injuries.

The thing with Seton Hall is they're going to have a really tough road to get sweet 16. They're going to be a 9-11 seed- possibly in First Four.

Really that's going to be a theme I think for the conference. Nova and Butler will be getting great seeds. Creighton somewhere in that 5-7 range. But everyone else is going to be in that 8-11/12 range with having at least 1 team in Dayton a very real possibility. I mean- look at the average seeds right now on bracket matrix-
Xavier 8.89
Providence 10.60
Seton Hall 10.62
Marquette 10.82

The thing that's weird for PC, SH, and Marquette- you almost don't want them to move up much at all now.. In the 64+ team era of the NCAA tourney(since 1985)-
8 seeds made sweet 16 12 times
9 seeds made sweet 16 5 times(which is crazy since 8 vs 9 game is 64-64.
10 seeds made sweet 16 23 times
11 seeds made sweet 16 19 times
12 seeds made sweet 16 20 times

so 8 and 9 seeds combined have made the sweet 16 fewer times than the 10, 11, or 12 seeds individually. Hell, the 13 seeds have made the sweet 16(6 times)- more than the 9 seeds have.
