He's criminally underrated right now nationally. But perhaps it works in Nova's favor because I think they're top 5 again next season with Brunson.

It's as if you know what he's going to do (e.g. Drive into the lane, legally pivot 57 times, and then find an opening for a scoop layup) and it doesn't matter, because you can't stop him anyway.

I agree with all the above comments. Being in the Big East now my favorite team to watch live is Villanova. Brunson reminds me a little of Hart a couple of years ago. Hart killed Creighton and in his sophomore year just could do everything. I think the same about Brunson and he makes everyone better. Never forces things and makes other adjust to his game and speed.

I thought Nova would drop off this year with the guys they lost. Wrong. Brunson's improvement makes them just as tough as last year. You look at them and can see flaws, but they just don't lose.

I wish Villanova only the best, but I don't think they've replaced Ochefu. There were times last year when they really needed a basket that they could go to him and he was almost automatic. There may come a time in a close game in the tournament when they'll wish they had that.

Brunson is currently 91st in NCAA D1 assists per game.

Carwright ranks 6th in the nation today in assists per game.

Do you think that assists are the only metric for a PG?

KC vs JB
PPG - 11.1 / 14.6
APG - 6.7 / 4.5
FG% - 41.4% / 54.1%
3FG% - 36.4% / 39.8%
FT% - 71.1% / 87.9%
TO/G - 2.7 / 2.1
RPG - 3.4 / 2.6
SPG - 1.0 / 1.0
ORtg - 103.0 / 129.8
DRtg - 101.7/ 101.5
Min/G - 31.1 / 31.2

EDIT - Thx Kayako. I put Hart's up there instead of Brunsons. Good catch.

Brunson shoots 88% from the line.

Yeah, he can get you timely buckets down low, but more importantly we can't play inside-out anymore. That's an entire dimension of last year's offense that has to be locked away until next season.
