Edit: New England!

I suspect we have more Pats than Falcons fans on this board. Congrats.

Can't believe the Falcons didn't run the ball 2-3 straight times when they had the ball on the 20. All they needed was a field goal to put the game away. The decision to pass cost them the game. Just dumb. It's just bad football not to run the ball in that situation.

We've had a great string of championship games recently...

I wouldn't necessarily include last night's game in that group. Nova-UNC and Clemson-Alabama were games in which it was back and forth for much of the game that either team could have won and was exciting from the opening tip/kickoff to the final whistle. Last night was one team dominating the first 30+ minutes then taking their foot off the gas and making some incredibly dumb decisions that cost them a championship. Their defense was completely gassed for most of the 2nd half. I'd honestly be surprised if once New England won the toss for overtime if anyone thought that Atlanta had any chance of winning the game.

Brady and Belichick are the greatest Coach/QB combo in NFL history, and that's because they don't make the boneheaded moves during the game like the Seahawks and Falcons have done that cost teams championships. Unless Matt Ryan is willing to start taking sweetheart deals to ensure the Falcons can keep weapons around him, I don't ever see them getting back to this stage. The Pats on the other hand could be right back here next season.

It was as big a choke job as it was a great comeback. Matt Ryan fumble and later the sack to put them out of FG range was the game. and how about defense letting NE convert 2pt not only once but back to back.

Wow, last night's game was amazing as a Patriots fan...

The Belichick-Brady era Patriots have been about great preparation, great composure, focus, teamwork, film study, repetition, and game planning. They rarely make half-ass decisions on the fly. They know what they're running in every situation. Again, just fantastic preparedness. A really great team to follow.

This is in contrast to the old pre-Robert Kraft Patriots. Many of those teams had a ton of talent but the coaching and ownership was awful and brainless. It's the equivalent of Keno Davis compared to Ed Cooley.

Really impressed with the postgame interviews too. Brady stayed positive regarding Goodell. Also, players like hero James White talked about their game strategy and again, preparedness. Reading the Atlanta defense.

Also, i was never a big fan of coaches that cheerlead on the sidelines. Dan Quinn is a good guy, but a couple of times understandably he got rah-rah emotional. Often it's just not a good look. Better to roll with the game and continue to keep your players focused.

In the college hoops world, Mark Turgeon at Maryland acts like an idiot jumping around like a clown... compare that to our 10 focused Big East coaches... like Jay Wright calmly watching Jenkins winner, or DiVincenzo's tip-in last week. It's a much better look.
