And you probably missed that GT game last year when we blew a 14 point lead in the last 2:30. If you have your starters in the game and are still playing to win, don't expect McDermott to put our bench in -- Particularly given the difference in athleticism between our 1-5 and our 6-10.
Fair enough, wasn't a huge deal just curious. I forgot you blew a 14 pt lead in 2:30 last yr. I was glad that one of your guys who looked injured (Watson?) turned out to be fine. By the way, they really need to replace the rims at Carnesecca...like seriously. For both teams there were many bricks. This is a constant theme...if the ball even sniffs the rim it will fly off of it. The hoops at MSG seem to be way softer and more forgiving. Anyone else notice this?

I spoke to some of the Creighton players in the lobby after the game & told them how much of a great addition they've been to the conference. Same goes with Xavier & Butler. SJU is clearly turning the corner & this league has tremendous potential. I hope people finally stop talking about expansion. We get to play everyone twice, will most likely be sending 50 to 60% of the league to the NCAA every year (I wouldn't rule out 7 teams in the future if things break right) and most importantly, we no longer have to deal with football schools looking to leave. Lets sit back & enjoy the ride of what should be a great Jan & Feb of league play. Can't even imagine what the Big East Tournament will be like this year.

I know they are excited to have #1 defending champ in their home court, but didn't understand deriding the most respectful coach in the entire NCAA.

Man, that was a turn back the clock night at Carnesecca/Alumni Hall. That's how it used to be during the Mullin years.
Packed, and loud.
Seen some good signed from the young SJU team. Down 24pnts they could easily just have giving up, but the crowd didn't bail at halftime.
Everyone returned to their seats in the 2nd half, and I think they played hard for the crowd. They gave a good effort.
I like seeing Mullin in charge in the huddle now. He's the coach, head coaches gotta be in charge.
On Creighton? Damn they are real good, I could see them as a F4 team.
Maybe we could be like Creighton is in 2017-18

Jay Wright blew up about a call (that video showed to be correct) and got himself T'd up (probably lucky he didn't get tossed). I think any reasonable fan realizes that Jay Wright is a very respectable guy, but in the heat of a big game like that, that is just fodder for a mob of students. Right or wrong, that is why they were chanting. I don't think I have ever seen Jay Wright get as upset as he was during that first half call.
