And you probably missed that GT game last year when we blew a 14 point lead in the last 2:30. If you have your starters in the game and are still playing to win, don't expect McDermott to put our bench in -- Particularly given the difference in athleticism between our 1-5 and our 6-10.

I wonder what they'll say about JT3 if Wright sucks

Fair enough, wasn't a huge deal just curious. I forgot you blew a 14 pt lead in 2:30 last yr. I was glad that one of your guys who looked injured (Watson?) turned out to be fine. By the way, they really need to replace the rims at Carnesecca...like seriously. For both teams there were many bricks. This is a constant theme...if the ball even sniffs the rim it will fly off of it. The hoops at MSG seem to be way softer and more forgiving. Anyone else notice this?

Eh, when you are also a ranked team, it's not as momentous. I get the celebration, but this isn't a huge upset on Butler's home court.
Personally, I agree. I was hoping the students wouldn't storm the court - but they let me down. Had the Dawgs hit a buzzer-beater, sure storm the court. But running the clock down, up by 8 - it just seems forced.
I was also a little embarrassed to hear the students chanting "Jay Wright Sucks." Not only is it bush league, but it's just inaccurate.

sciencejay wrote:Now regarding Jay's 'occasional' outbursts at the officials, is that the norm? I never thought of Jay as a hot-headed coach, but at last Saturday's CU game, he started yelling/screaming at the refs beginning about two minutes into the game. He continued on/off for the rest of the game. The. Entire. Game. I sit behind the visitor's bench and was captivated by it. If Watson/Thomas penetrated with the dribble and scored, he came unglued at his players. Both halves. I really hadn't seen that before. What was truly amazing was that on three separate occasions, he screamed an F-bomb at the refs! "That was a f---ing foul" Once the ref didn't acknowledge him. Once the ref looking at him just turned away, and once the ref told him to back it down a little. This comes from a friend of mine who was running stats and sat about 10 feet from JW the entire game. Is this typical of his style? My guess is most coaches don't get that kind of rope from the refs. Nice to be the coach of the defending NC. Hard to imaging McD ever getting to that point.
