Butler has three Pomeroy Top 20 wins before Christmas. That's pretty hard to do. A lot of times you get those wins, but they drop out afterward.

Edrick - Butler's resume is fantastic, particularly now that it includes a win over Indiana.

My point all along was that this writer had an opinion that really was not as far-fetched as Stever believes. That is all. Again, I would argue that, particularly now with the Indiana win (which Stever keeps forgetting that the article was written and this discussion started before that win) Butler would have one of the best, if not the best, resume right now if not for the Indiana State loss.

That is all...I am not throwing shade to Butler. I am thrilled that they just "keep being Butler" and filling in new pieces and competing at the highest level. Mad respect for what they seem to do every year.

DOH...I guess they get still get two neutral site wins but losing to San Francisco is going to leave a mark...

lol. actually if they win tonight(and you have to say if)- it's actually a road win since they're playing tourney host Hawaii. But SOS won't improve much. Pac 12 really weak this year.

But even w/o Utah- Butler has 3 Ken Pom top 20 teams. Indiana, Arizona, and Cincy.

I'm lost. Are we debating whether Butler or Creighton had the more impressive non-conference results, whether or not there are enough teams ahead of Creighton in general that they probably won't get a 1-2 seed, or what?

Stever started by inferring that CU is "not worthy" and others should be ahead of them...

Gumby asked him to make the case for who he (steverrrr) would put ahead of them. We're still waiting.

I don't get the love for Creighton based on the resume so far. Like was said in the piece the #178 SOS so far. Beaten 1 sure tourney team so far in Wisconsin. But besides them looking at RPI forecast- no one else in the top 90 OOC RPI.

Always easy to say that a team doesn't deserve something but it's often hard to find the team(s) that you can justify ahead of them. You're right that their OOC scheduling has just been just OK. But they beat Wiscy somewhat comfortably and have been destroying other teams. Make a case for which teams you think deserve to be ahead of them and I bet each can be easily picked apart.

Just more pot stirring...that is all. I suppose the steverrrr would rather the Jays be in the 20's or not in the polls? Unfortunately for Steve, Creighton is not cooperating with his perspective.

I have no idea what facts Stever is even citing. His reference to RPI Forecast is irrelevant since the topic is about what the resume is right now. And right now Creighton victims NC State and Mississippi are both top 40 RPI and Akron is top 100.

Stever is also criticizing Creighton for having beaten only one "sure tourney team". This is another irrelevant point since the topic is about right now, not about March. But even still, can anyone tell me who the "sure tourney teams" are? How would anyone know the answer to that question in December? According to his preferred reference, RPI Forecast, Akron is looking like a pretty solid tourney pick for March, meaning that Wisconsin is not the only such win on their schedule even by that criterion.

Stever argues because there's something inside him that compels him to do so, and this is where he gets his fix.

It's pathological; it has to be.

Stever's whole gimmick is to argue/debate in order to generated posts and bring posters back. He is the board contrarian and even though his arguments are usually terrible it works, people continue to engage with him. He slants statistics in an attempt to back up his argument and then will dramatically change his point or refuse to back up a statement so long as people continue the argument. I am pretty sure he doesn't believe half the stuff he debates, his only purpose is to debate. This cant be any more clear as he is definitely not a Big East fan.
