Repeat comment here... going from memory... really low-importance comments:
- Thru the 1982 season, Georgetown wore their white homes and royal blue roads.
- They switched to grey home and navy roads for the 1983 season.
- They did this to copy the Dallas Cowboys' new 1981 or 1982 road uniforms, which back then was considered a cutting-edge design of navy and silver.
- Dallas had switched away from their cool royal blue road shirts, which they thought gave them back luck over the years. I think the final use by Dallas of those jinxed royal blues was in the 1980 NFC Finals... game at Philadelphia, and the Eagles wore white at home specifically to make Dallas wear their royal blues...
- i guess Vermeil was trying to mess with their heads, and it worked... also it was QB Danny White's first year as a starter and he kinda sucked... any Villanova fans remember that game?
- i guess my point is that the current day 2016 Hoya uniforms can trace their origins back 35 years to Dallas' 's change from 35 years ago.
