Rank These Coaches...

....Form best to worst:

A) JT3
B) Wojo
c) Mullin

It pains me that the above guys represent the schools that they do. When it was announced that we were entering the Big East, I was excited that we would get to play these historically great basketball schools twice a year. At this point, however, each of the schools does anything but excite. The problem with each of the programs right now is the exact same across the board - poor coaching. I'd add Willard to the list as I think he is a poor coach as well, but at least Seton Hall is competitive right now.

I dont think you can because they are kind of in three categories, and two of them you just don't know much about.

1. Wojo --- who knows, probably OK
2. Mullin --- who knows, probably bad
3. JT3 --- truly awful. Yeah nepotism.

Yeah, I give Wojo the best chance although Marquette hasn't looked so good. If he goes 3 years w/o an NCAA bid, I think he will be on the hot seat year 4. Mullin has talent now but I don't think he can coach and his staff can't seem to coach either. JT3 is just awful.

Name me the current Big East coaches that have been to the FF?
Wright (2)
JT3 (1)

Name me the current BE coaches that have been to the E8?
Wright (3)
JT3 (1)

S16?
Wright (5)
Mack (3)
JT3 (2)

BE coaches to have won a tournament game?
Wright (20)
JT3 (9)
Mack (7)
McDermott (3)
Holtmann (2)
Leitao (2)
Cooley (1)

If he is "truly awful" what can we say about others who have not accomplished as much? I know that recently this team has not lived up to the G'town brand, but to say Wojo is "probably OK" and JT3 is "awful" (when Wojo has not sniffed a tournament bid yet) is setting two sets of expectation levels. I think JT3 needs to show he can change his style with his players and the way the game is now played but let's see how the conference shakes out before giving up on the Hoyas already.

at what point though do you stop living off of 2006 and 2007? Take those 2 years out and he's not advanced to 2nd weekend and has 3 tourney wins. A high school senior would have been like 7 when the Hoyas made the final 4. He's 58-48 since the freedom of movement stuff came around- and 27-27 in conference play.

I just don't get this unlimited patience that folks have just because you make a final 4 10 years ago. I know you want some patience, but if this year continues the way it's started, this would be 3 out of 4 bad years, and 2 in a row.

Some of these bad losses are much worse then others. I wouldn't call any Power 6 loss a bad loss.

BC
Tulsa
Even UTEP

You have Top 150 RPI teams (guessing) in here with some real dogs....

You have Top 150 RPI teams (guessing) in here with some real dogs....

This just shows how dumb labels are...

First off, by your labels, BC isn't a bad loss because it's a P6. But you are helping me actually prove my point....

The BC loss- by Providence in '15.... BC was ranked #110 in Ken Pom.
The Tulsa loss- by Creighton in '15. Tulsa was ranked #85 in Ken Pom.

So why is the BC loss a better loss than the Tulsa loss? Just because of a stupid label?

Also lets look at '15 Xavier.....
Billyjack bolded UTEP as a bad loss, but didn't bold Auburn
UTEP that year in KP 97, Auburn 139
so which one was the worse loss?

BE fans hate when the P5 label is thrown out, but they are quick to throw out the P6 label if it includes the Big East.

I love that the first four wins are from the first 6 games of this season.
