It's not good, but it also isn't the end of the world. The Johnnies are still very young and weren't expected to be contenders this year. I am sure they will grow and learn from this.

Nice win by X. Nova doing Nova things, keep it up.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

We knew going into the season that DePaul and St. John's were going to be bad. This is an awful loss for St. John's, but it's not like we were counting on them to help the league out this year.

Understood but Delaware State is one of the worst teams in D1.

I really don't care about winning by 25-30pnts.

Until our big men stop being soft, we'll continue to lose.
If they can't score then fine, but atleast REBOUND THE F'ING BALL. Ponds is 6'1 and had 10boards??? and out bigs can't do jack s*.
Freaking makes me sick. Hopefully they men up soon .

If you really thought St. John's would win by 25-30, hopefully you didn't watch any of the game, let alone some. St. John's fans, man. Unbelievable.

Jays 41-39 at half. Second consecutive game with a poor first half. Hopefully things click at half time and they run away like they did on Saturday.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

St . John's was a 22 point favorite. This has to be the worst loss in the 4 year history of the Big East Conference.

I agree, it doesn't get any worse than this. It is playground basketball, pure and simple... They took 37 3's tonight. No attempt at all to move the ball around and find the open man... 6'1 165 pound guard Shamorie Ponds was once again the leading rebounder, increasing his team lead in that department... Zero fast break points until the final minutes of the game. I guess when your point guard is the only one crashing the boards it's hard to get the running game going... Delaware St shot 58% for the game against this shaky ass defense. Every white guy on the team plays "D" like their sneakers are made of cement. And the other guys ain't too hot either... If Mullins coaching has improved the play of any returning player, I'd love to know who it is, because they all look like they've regressed to me. And finally, what the hell does Mullin tell these guys at halftime. Every second half starts out with us getting blown out, tonight a 4 point deficit blossomed to 15 in the blink of an eye. And while easy basket after easy basket get made against us, no adjustments are ever made.

I realize it will never happen, but what this team desperately needs is an assistant like Larry Brown to be hired. Someone that is actually interested in teaching some basketball fundamentals at practice, instead of just beating everyone at HORSE. As undisciplined and wild as they played in the 4 previous loses, i thought for sure they would come out tonight with some intensity and dedication to playing the game the right way. Instead it was more of the same, launching non stop threes, no defense and getting bullied in the paint. Enough is enough, it's time for Mullin to raise the bar in what's expected from these guys.

well, remember what I said a few years ago about the AAC. Your bottom teams aren't what a conference is measured by. It's your top teams... So while this loss stinks, it's not that big of a deal quite frankly...

did see this factoid that's pretty funny:
Delaware State men's basketball is 2-95 vs major-conference teams. The wins came against teams coached by Hall-of-Famers Danny Manning and Chris Mullin.

the Jonnies are young and yes Delaware St is horrible....they have their backcourt for another 3 years with Shamorie and Lovett. Those 2 will NOT lose their whole career. I'm willing to bet on that as long as they don't leave. The front court is young, but Mullin has to bring in more talent to help them.

I remember when my boys Foye and ARay lost to freakin Chaminade, actually gave Chaminade their 1st win in the last 25 games or something like that in the Maui lol...back in 03.

This should kill the myth that the Johnnies are actually good this season. There's talent but no cohesion or strategy. Its a bunch of individuals playing street ball. Maybe next season.
