Not too bad. It'll be 7 vs 9 on Saturday for Xavier. Huge test for them.

for record- no one else got any votes. Totally understandable.

This is collectively the best showing the conference has had in the AP top 25 since it was formed. Last year Week 7 was pretty good too.

2016 Week 7:
Xavier #6
Butler #9
Providence #10
Nova #17

This week is slightly better with Villanova being at #2, 3 conference mates still in the top 10, and Butler being as high as 18. This is just the 7th week since the league reconstituted itself that 4 teams have been ranked at the same time. Also how about the Big East Expansion Teams Creighton, Butler, and Xavier... I think a lot of fans from the holdover teams didn't expect that besides Nova these 3 would represent the conference in the AP poll the most often 3 years in. Here is a list of all the teams in the conference and the number of weeks they've been represented in the AP poll since the league reconstituted itself:

Nova: 58 Weeks
Xavier: 21 Weeks
Butler: 20 Weeks
Creighton: 16 Weeks
Providence: 14 Weeks
Georgetown: 5 Weeks
St. Johns: 5 Weeks
Seton Hall: 4 Weeks
Marquette: 4 Weeks
DePaul: 0 Weeks

I certainly didn't. Going into the Big East in 2013, I expected Marquette and Georgetown to be the torchbearers of this conference for the foreseeable future.

Definitely didn't expect it for Butler, especially given their tumultuous coaching situation their first two years, but it's not entirely surprising for the three new teams to see this much success either. You essentially gave three ascendent programs the recruiting draw they were all missing in their former conferences. Now it's paying dividends.

Hmmm. Three out of the four ranked teams are newbies from the Midwest. Time to rebrand as the Big MidWest?
