Coming into the season I was expecting this team to live and die by Martin in any game. If you told me Marin had a shaky game against a top 10 team on a neuteral floor I would think they lost by 20. I was so wrong about Butler

Good night for the conference, but really was hoping for St John's to come together faster this year. Still early though...

Butler, Congrats on a huge win. Beating a Sean Miller coached team is incredibly difficult, and he has talent on paper comparable to Duke and Kentucky. Iw as looking at the rest of yur OOC, and there are still plenty of opportunities for quality, resume building wins.

Great day for the BIg East.

Anyone have any idea where we stand compared to where the league was last year? Thanks

This year 40-13 .755
last year thru today- 38-13 .745

So almost exactly the same.

Where it's different- last year 3 6-0 teams, 3 1 loss teams, 2 2 loss teams, and 2 3 loss teams.
this year- 2 6-0, 2 5-0, 3 1 loss teams, 1 2 loss team, and 2 4 loss teams. So it's more teams up top- but the bottom teams with an extra loss. All in all- a better spread for the conference.

Butler has literally the same Pomeroy Rating this moment as they did the preseason rating at the end of the summer. Predicting Butler to be Butler is no different than picking DePaul to be DePaul. Or anyone else for that matter

I think the main thing was that I wasn't completely sold on Holtman yet. I think his first year the team preformed to their level and last year they underperformed. Also Baldwin is a huge surprise and I think Lewis is having a much better year so far.

At the time of their 1st game, their KP rating was #22. Just looking tonight, it's now #16.

The Butler and Providence wins (and unfortunately the St. John's loss) show how important good coaching is. Arizona and Memphis tried to play hero ball every time on offense. One of their stars would get it and they would try to iso their way to a shot, which would usually end poorly. Butler let themselves get intimidated a few times and that lead to a 15-2 run. Holtmann settled them down, they played solid defense, and executed their offense with precision. That Wideman dunk was the play of the game.

Well done Providence and Butler. St. John's, you've got talent, but not enough talent to try and outathlete every opponent.

I'm not sure if they teach sentence deconstruction at whatever Conference of the Americas directional you attended, but when you read 'this moment' that should probably trigger some bells in your head. When that was posted, they were 19th which (again with the bells when you read literally) was/is exactly where they stared a number of weeks ago.

2014-2015 team overachieved if anything.
