So far we are blowing out most mid majors and consistently beating top competition while staying in the game even in losses vs. F5 opponents. I think nationally people are realizing more and more that you don't need football to be a great basketball school. You just need to allocate more funds and resources to basketball. It really will be interesting to see how long UConn allows football to slowly erode their basketball prestige. Very interesting case study.

um, we haven't really played that many mid majors.
looking-
Nova- vs UCF 10
Xavier- vs No Iowa 8
believe it or not, but those are the only 2 mid majors that we've seen so far.
SJHooper wrote:Stever, very rarely is "low major" used. Typically, the casual definition is any team from a conference outside of the P6 (and UConn, Cincy, Memphis, Gonzaga, St. Mary's, Wichita St being exceptions). If Bethune-Cookman had a good year they would make the "top mid majors" list. I've only heard the term "low major" if it's really nitpicking. Either way, we have handled business so far in OOC. Hope to keep it up. SJ is overdue for a ranked win after losing 15 straight games vs. ranked opponents. I would rather beat Syracuse, but after being 2-0 recently and in the Carrier Dome with a legit team this year, I feel we have a better shot vs. MSU. I fear Miles Bridges will tear us to shreds...he's better than Coffey on Minnesota and it felt like he dropped 50 on us. If we are going to win this game, we need a 3rd guy to step up not named Ponds or LoVett. Looking at you Mussini and Ahmed.
