Early in the season, obviously, but right now Kyron Cartwright of PC and Mo Watson of Creighton lead the country in assists per game. Cartwright is averaging 9.3, Watson at 9.2. Who was it that said Cartwright would lead the league in assists??? :D

Haha, fair enough but I think Watson has faced much tougher competition so far.

Jet I think you misunderstood haha. That was no slight to Watson, kid is unreal and will probably have his way with Cartwright in the head to head. I wasn't even comparing the two just pointing out 2 Big East guys are at the top. I was however trying to point out the fact that Cartwright is an assist machine and nobody wanted to give him credit in the preseason. I just HAVE to point out these things until my team stops being looked over so god damn much on this board lmao. All preseason this board would give their projections, and then there was the broken record analysis; the lazy, lethargic, I don't care analysis of, "they lost Dunn and Bentil 9th or 10th place for sure." Last year we have Dunn and Bentil and the preseason poll puts us at 6th (lmao). Year before that we were picked like 7th. Inaugural year were picked like 6th and win the damn conference. And at the beginning of this year, I stated Cartwright would lead the league in assists. Even if he doesn't I hope this early stay puts in perspective for those who think PC has nobody because they "lost Dunn and Bentil." We'll just enjoy it even more when we come in 4th/5th place and are fighting for a tourney bid AGAIN (4th straight). Maybe next year we'll stop being looked over so much lol.

Had they beat Oh State that would've been an eye opener. but still very impressed with just how much playing time Cooley is getting out of Holt and Young. Especially Young since he's a freshman. gotta give Cooley benefit of the doubt until he stops doing it.

I don't know about Memphis but Rhode Island game should give a good indication.

1st year picked 6th and finished in a 3 way tie for 3rd-5th. Not too far off.
2nd year picked 7th and finished 4th.
last year picked 6th and finished tied for 4th/5th. Not too far off

I would hold off barking on Cartwright until they actually play some even decent teams. Last 2 games vs 342 and 327. Out of 351. Hardly great. And 17 assists to 10 turnovers is not good in those 2 games. Watson against 3 top 100 teams has 24 assists to 12 turnovers.

And I think the world of Cooley, I think I had you guys 6th. I was like if it was anyone but Cooley I'd have them like 9th/10th.

Holt is a better interior scorer and defender than Bentil. Please don't confuse that with me claiming he's better than Bentil because Bentil was one of the top 20/30 players in college last year. Holt is definitely light years ahead of Bentil defensively, however, which will help him fill the hole left by Bentil just pleasantly.

A10 is #15 RPI and #23 SOS

You nailed it. It's wayyyyy early.

case in point. Part of the Big East SOS is.... a #11 RPI team right now. That's right, UCF. Purdue though is 224.

RPI forecast, which is still too early, has Big East as projected #4 conference with #7 SOS. That's the key- it's too early for any of that.

Dude, if you were actually a Big East fan, wouldn't you be cheering that 3 weeks into the season, Big East is #1 in the nation in RPI and #1 in SOS... while acknowledging it's very early.

Instead, you are trying to argue that the Big East is #1 in SOS because of an American Athletic Conference team, UCF, sitting at #11 in RPI. Could you imagine if not for UCF at #11 where American AC would be.... they are currently at #14 and #29 SOS even with UCF. Sad!

We aren't 3 weeks into the season though. Today is day 11. the RPI doesn't mean much yet. Charlotte #1, Elon #4, Tennessee St #12 just a few examples. CAA is #4 as a conference and #2 SOS, and I don't see anyone crowing about them.

The AAC is still projected to be #8 RPI end of the season.
