Other than X, all these other games look like toss-ups.

Not a great day for the BEast against the Football 5, but not a total disaster either. The Gavitt Games swing toward the B1G with DePaul and Providence taking losses. The Pirates salvage a win on the road to ensure at least a split with just the Johnnies left to play. In a non- Gavitt game, Quette got handled at the Garden by Michigan. Xavier made it interesting but prevailed against Missouri. Tomorrow the Johnnies close out the Gavitt Games and Nova and X get shots at the ACC. Creighton will take on the PAC-12.

11/18: Johnnies vs. Minnesota
Washington State vs. Creighton
Nova vs. Wake
X vs. Clemson

ACC : 0-0
B1G: 4-4
B XIi: 0-0
PAC 12: 0-0
SEC: 2-0

Overall: 6-4

Go Big East!

This is why this thread is in a lot of ways so dumb....

You make it seem like Marquette is better off playing Pittsburgh than they are SMU. I mean like it or not, SMU is a good team(probably playing for a top 25 slot this upcoming week tonight). Getting a shot at them would be FAR better than playing a Pitt team who just got beat by SMU by 9. Labels are dumb. Records against top 25 teams mean FAR more. Like it or not, but winning vs a team like a Cincy means far more than X's win yesterday vs Missouri.

If you think it is so dumb, you are free to not click on it and ignore all posts. I am not making it seem anything. Just measuring us up against the Football 5 - nothing more, nothing less. Again, feel free to ignore it entirely.

But you are inferring that is the most important thing. Records against top 25 and 50 teams mean far more than beating like Missouri yesterday. In no fashion will that win yesterday mean anything to Xavier. None. Just like the Big Ten- their win over DePaul is totally meaningless. There are 4 teams in the top 25 this week outside the Big East and F5, and beating them is infinitely more important than beating just any unranked F5 team. Xavier will get a lot more props for beating Cincy than they would beating Missouri. Beating Cincy gets you in the tourney/helps with seeding. Beating Missouri gets you nothing.

LOL - you can always count on Stever to defend the AAC.

But, you know, he's a Georgetown fan

News flash Stever ----- we track the football 5 because that is who we want to be compared to. Nobody gives a crap about the AAC nationally and neither do the posters on this board.

who you want to be compared to is other top 25 teams. Who gives a rip if those teams are F5 teams or Gonzaga. Top 25 and Top 50 games get you in the tourney. Beating Missouri doesn't help one iota.
