Respectfully disagree here. I think Parrish and Norlander are some of the best college bball writers out there. If you remotely like College hoops, their podcast, The Eye on College Hoops, should be a must listen. They often take their own stances, and don't regurgitate what everyone else says. Their weekly top 25 voter article is also great, which basically calls out AP voters with nonsensical rankings

No doubt SHU fans will be slighted that this one writer is lower on their team than others, but to call him a crap writer is ridic.

Too many times, fanbases convince themselves that losing an NBA level player is not going to hurt them much. If you are Duke or Kentucky you can just get another Whitehead to plug in. But unfortunately SH is not Seton Hall or Kentucky. Same goes for PC losing Dunn. Same for Marquette losing Ellenson. Seton Hall still has a nice solid core, but without the star PG, it will put a lot of pressure on others to fill the big hole. IMO Seton Hall will do no better than 4th and possibly as worse as 7th. They have nice role players, but lost their go-to scorer. Here's to hoping I'm wrong.

Lol well you're entitled to your opinion, but don't pretend to hope you're wrong. We all know you hate SHU and would very much enjoy seeing them fail. Don't get your hopes up ;)

Everyone has their opinion and if you like Norlander I have no issue with that. However, I rarely see anything in his writing that demonstrates knowledge beyond that of a casual fan and this piece is a clear example - not just regarding Seton Hall, but half the teams in here. Others you've seen pointed out in this thread - Marquette has trouble with youth? Sure they've got a bunch of young guys, but they have 6 juniors or seniors or their roster too. X has no point guard? what? It just doesn't make any sense. I can critique more in regards to his Seton Hall analysis because I know more about them, but they're not the only team he doesn't have a good feel for.

As for Parrish, I don't love him but I have nothing against him - and I actually do find his poll attacks pieces entertaining.

Losing an NBA caliber player always hurts. Marquette would be better with Ellenson obviously. But he really won't be as hard to replace as many here think. Very inefficient scorer who was a turnstile on defense. Our offense last year was "get Henry the ball and pray he can do something with it." Team will be significantly improved this season.

Perhaps inevitable, but hopefully later rather than sooner :D . Realistically, SH should have at least 2 more very strong years before the current junior class graduates. I'm gonna need to see some current sophomores take a big step forward to have much confidence beyond that. Although freshman Myles Powell may be set to surprise a lot of people (Zach Braziller thinks he'll win BE ROY)

Seton Hall has a strong core no question, but they are role players not go to stars who can score the rock at will. Nova lost Arch but they have plenty of great guards to pick up the slack. Don't see that with SHU. I really don't have a problem with SHU I just don't like when a school from New Jersey tries so hard to be NYC. Once again, Syracuse is not in NYC, UConn is not in NYC, Rutgers is not in NYC, and Seton Hall is not in NYC. The only major NYC program actually representing NYC is St. John's for better or for worse. It will be interesting to see if Willard goes back to being Willard after losing his star PG. If he has another good season that's a great sign for him IMO.
