Which BE Team do you root for other than yours?

DePaul because I want a rivalry I can walk to.

Georgetown and Villanova because I view them as our basketball peers (more so Georgetown now that Nova had to join the 2 NC club)

I used to really cheer for X pre big east as they were my no2 school I applied to but I don't find myself doing that as much anymore.

Everyone else is interchangeable in my book

Easy one - Butler. Practically grew up on their campus playing a variety of sports. Even sold popcorn at the games @ Hinkle Hall as a kid. Saw a million hs games there also. Hoosiers, baby!

1. Villanova - My dad went there. I grew up a Nova fan. I almost went there as well.
2. Creighton - McDermott seems like a good dude, and he's tight with Cooley
3. Seton Hall - I live close, and will catch some non-PC games occasionally
4. Georgetown - Old big east loyalty, despite their coach and entitled fanbase
5. Butler - hard to dislike them
6. Marquette - they have inexplicably had our number for awhile, so that pushes them down slightly
7. Depaul - out of pity, and some of those OOC losses can reflect poorly on the conference
8. Xavier - I haven't really liked their players the past few years (Reynolds, Macura, etc.) but I love Sumner's game now
9. St John's - they've been bad for a long time, and their fans are blowhards (generally speaking). I don't think Mullin is the guy to do it. He seems like the HC in title only.

Just a few of the players and reasons why I like the school without regard to any off court issues etc. I have Jesuit connections.

1) PC - always viewed them as an underdog; fan of Pitino, Gillen, Donovan, Murdock, Gomes, Cotton, Dunn and Bentil etc
2) Nova - Fan of Lappas and Wright before they arrived; personal connections; Arch, S Reynolds, Foye, Lowry, Sumpter
3) Xavier - Gillen, 1990 team, J Reynolds, Jesuit
4) Marquette - Majerus, Crean, Wade, Jesuit
5) Creighton - Altman; Doug was fun to watch; Fan support including online especially when not talking about WSU LOL, Jesuit
6) Butler - Absolutely loved how those Stevens teams played; Trip
7) SHU - PJ, Ramon Ramos, Morton, Dehere, L Wright
8) DePaul - how can you root against them after 1 winning season in 11 years in BE? fellow Vincentian school
9) Georgetown - my historical dislike has mellowed since realignment; liked certain players like DSR over years; Jack

Interesting results so far, but probably not surprising. Looks like C7 fans have other C7 schools at top of their lists. Conversely, I find myself rooting for newcomers whenever possible. I've always been a fan of Creighton and generally root for them against other BE teams. Despite the history with Butler, I root for them whenever they are not playing X. Outside of the newcomers, I root for Providence (Cooley factor and Gillen factor). I also root for SHU because they beat our asses every year, so it's nice when they also beat other teams. I rooted my ass off for Nova in the tournament, but find it hard to root for them during league play due to them taking the prize every year.
