Not expecting him to replace Jenkins as a clone. Not the shooter that Jenkins is but much more athletic than him. I would expect that his game will be a little less 3 pat shooting and a little more attackng the rim. JW will probably give him free reign offensively and ask him to guard 3-5 on the defensive end. Nova really needs to recruit a shooter/sniper or two in the next couple of classes.

current team ranks:
Xavier 5- started 37
Butler 10- started 50
Nova 28- started 23
Creighton 35- started 7
Georgetown 40- started ur
Marquette 42- started 43
Providence 45- started 26
DePaul 60- started 38
Seton Hall 71- started 21
St John's 75- started 22

the huge differences are why I was saying at the start of the thread that it was way too early for the team ranks. I mean, look at the huge differences between Xavier(+32), Butler(+40), Creighton(-28), Providence(-19), DePaul(-22), Seton Hall(-50), and St John's(-53). Even now, it's tough to take the team ranks that seriously as Duke, Kentucky, and Kansas are not in the top 50 even right now(but are locks to do so). (Duke 67, Kansas 69, Kentucky ur). When they do so, they'll move some teams down and out of the top 50.

Here's how it looks like this-with average ratings from last 5 years with this years BE results so far.....
10 64.80
-----------X 63.40
20 59.96
-----------B 55.26
30 54.92
40 49.07
-----------V 48.21
-----------C 45.72
50 44.91
-----------G 43.78
-----------M 43.15
----------PC 42.58
-----------D 30.99
----------SH 26.82
----------SJ 25.52

the numbers 10-50 are the average rating from last 5 years. So for instance average 10 team last 5 years has been at 64.80. Xavier being at 63.40 would be slightly behind. So right now, would say 3 locks for top 50. Creighton/Georgetown right on the cut line(even Marquette quite frankly). So right now you would expect Xavier to be around #12, Butler around #29, Nova around #41, Creighton around #49.

Lol come on, you really spent all that time to post about something nobody ever argued against? Look Stever, I get that you've been wrong essentially this entire topic. Everything from not understanding how 247 works (JUCO rankings) to underestimating how great the class would end up. So you have to find some silver lining. But since you've repeated this same argument since page one of the thread, I'll repeat myself as well since you still don't seem to understand.

Obviously the team rankings would change dramatically. The purpose was to show how many of our schools were recruiting and were laying the foundation for great classes very early on in the process. I was proven right. That is reflected in the fact that all 10 schools are within the first 75 positions, and overall the class is stacking up to be one of the best.

If this is it for the class, I wouldn't say that it's a great class. I mean, to have something close to 12,29, 42, and 48 if no one got anyone else- wouldn't be great at all. It may be a deep class with everyone getting folks- but it's not the dominating class in terms of what '14 had with 4 top 20 teams. I think it goes to what you look at for things- do you want the great team classes, or the depth.

In fact with team classes- this would be the worst class yet for the Big East.

And look at what you said 1st post:
Personally, I think the team rankings are a lot more important than the player rankings.

....your argument now is that if no more recruits signed, this wouldn't be a great class? In November? ....What?

As a St. John's fan, don't bother. Here is a look at the EARLIEST our 4 star recruits have signed/verbally committed over the years.

http://stjohns.247sports.com/Season/201 ... ll/Commits

Bashir Ahmed- December 2015
Richard Freudenberg- February 2016

2/3 signed/verballed AFTER November

http://stjohns.247sports.com/Season/201 ... ll/Commits

3/3 signed/verballed AFTER November

Yes this was abnormal because Mullin joined in April, but still proves how many 4 stars can be signed even in April/May (6 months after your assumption).

http://stjohns.247sports.com/Season/201 ... ll/Commits

In 2014 there were no 4/5 stars recruited

http://stjohns.247sports.com/Season/201 ... ll/Commits

1/1 signed/verballed AFTER November

Only 1 commit, Rysheed Jordan, who signed in April.

Is St. John's a bit abnormal? Yes. But the fact reasons this is ONE school and 6/7 of our 4 star recruits in the new Big East verballed after November. None of these players would have been on this list in November of prior years.

Yes, it is possible that the new Big East won't sign anyone else, but I don't think that's probable so I won't waste time arguing with you over a strange assumption. If by May no more recruits have signed then I'll be happy to revisit this.

Go ahead though and tell me about how 99% of all recruits have already signed and the last 1% is going to Duke and Kentucky. And make sure to omit JUCOs who don't sign until late in the process. Just know that I won't be listening.

the thing is- St John's has totally been the exception, not the rule...

last 3 recruiting classes
by Nov 2- 4 5 star and 30 4 star guys
after- 0 5 star and 7 4 star guys(with 5 of the 7 being St John's, and 2 being Marquette).
so by then 83% done....

maybe 1-2 schools get more guys- but the lions share of the work is done now. maybe this year will be different- but given how few guys are left that are even considering BE schools- that's tough to see.

Just give it a rest already.

Yup.

I used to enjoy an occasional seasoned debate with Stever but now he doesn't even try to hide his anti-BE slant. Truth be told, his posts just bore me anymore because there is really no sliver of reality or accountability. I mean, did he really just say that this is not a great class? All credibility completely lost.
