comparing BE and B10's bargaining power is dumb. especially back when we were breaking up from the old BE with a lot of uncertainties surrounding the basketball only league. Fox threw us a lifeline of a deal and we had to take it. We took a chance with fledgling network but we were also a fledgling conf.

To act like having the CBSSN package on ESPN wouldn't help the Big East is pretty dumb IMO. You have to remember that the number of those games will likely increase even more next year when Big Ten is on board. ESPN coverage would help the Big East out considerably.

I'm lost. Are you talking to yourself because I can't figure out who you are responding too in your post. Other than you, I didn't see anyone bring up CBSSN.

What FOX product is packaged to ESPN? I don't think anyone packages a product to ESPN. CBS and NBC doesn't. Maybe golf on Thursday and Friday.

To put it another way...
When the new BE was formed and the league huddled with Fox, I'm sure they discussed worse case and best case scenarios. At this point, pretty close to best case IMO

If the Big East wants to reach its ultimate potential it, IMO, it needs to do 3 things.

1. Win out of conference games, specifically big match-ups against other "power" conferences, national television (CBS etc) games and exempt tourneys

2. Win in the NCAA Tourney. I don't think anything is more important than this.

3. FS1 needs to gain popularity. You can downplay it all you want, but the lack of ESPN coverage has hurt Big East perception this year big time and will continue to hurt us going forward if FS1 can't gain more eyeballs.

I think 3 is slightly less important, just because I think winning can cure all, but I still think it's crucial to the Big East going forward.

I agree with your points. It will take time for FS1. At least 3 years to get fully known. The BE needs 3-5 teams ranked in the top 25 from the beginning of the season. People will seek out games of the ranked teams.
I'd watch a lasalle vs #24 umass game before an unranked ucla vs unlv game.
