UPDATE 10/24/16:

Good Afternoon All,

I am commissioning the Big East fantasy league again this year for anyone interested. I will keep everyone updated.

For this year, I am working with the owners of the site to customize our league a little bit. It should make this year a little better experience for this year. For one, I am seeing if we can get all of the centers in the league to be listed as forward. We did not have enough centers last year. This should fix this problem. The programming for their site can be a little difficult. Hopefully, we can get something figured out.

Regardless, I will keep everyone updated. We will probably start signups for the league some time in the next few days. We'll start once we have an even number of teams. I'm shooting for 12 teams this year (last year we had 10 teams). The Big East will have 137 athletes this year by my count. A few of these guys will end up getting redshirted, which will add a new challenge if we get 12 teams.

UPDATE 10/26/16:

Good Morning Everyone,

The league is set up. We are doing things a little different this year. We are using Fantrax rather than FCBLZone. It can be customized more than the program we used last year.

There are some rule changes for this year:
1. We are starting five players per week: Two guards, two forwards and one flex. There are no centers this year. I touch on this in the next change. You are still allowed 10 players per roster. So you will bench five players each week rather than four.
2. The "Center" position no longer exists. All "Centers" in the traditional sense are now listed as forwards, meaning you can start them as forwards or as flexes.
3. No "freshmen rule": You are not required to start a freshman each week. You can still draft and/or start them, but it is not required.
4. There are five scoring categories rather than three, and they are weighted. Scoring (3), assists (2), rebounds (2), blocks (1), steals (1). So scoring is worth more than assists and rebounds. Rebounds and assists are worth more than blocks and steals.
5. There are ties for categories this year. Last year, neither team received a win/loss in the event of a tie. This year, both teams receive a "tie." This tie goes towards your total record.
6. The initial draft time is 18 hours per pick. I chose 18 hours so people who are on the clock in the evening/night don't get screwed over. That said, please make picks at your earliest convenience. We will lower this number if we get close to opening day and aren't finished. Lowering pick times sucks, so let's make sure we are timely with our picks.
7. Rosters are still set every Monday. However, you have until 5 minutes before the first game of the period to set your roster. This has the potential to be a slight inconvenience on MLK Day. Butler and Marquette play at noon. Still, this gives you until 11:55am EDT to set your roster for the week.
8. We are set for a maximum of 12 teams. Last year we had 10 teams.

Let me know if there are any problems with any of these new rules. I think they'll make this season much more enjoyable.

Some last minute information:
1. You must create a username at Fantrax (http://www.fantrax.com/) in order to join the HLOH League. It's pretty easy to figure out.
2. The league is private. When you search for a league, you will be prompted for some information:

The league ID is: ef4llmd0iur11ehn
The league password is: 2016NovaChamps

3. Preliminary start time for the league draft is 9:00am EDT on Saturday (10/29/16). If we fill to capacity quickly, we might start as early as Friday. I will alert everyone via email if the league starts early. Please do not use a garbage email address when signing up for the league for this reason.

I believe I have covered everything. Good luck everyone!

Another thing...

The Draft room doesn't quite have as much information as it did last year. However, you can go to the "Players" tab and get a crapload of information. You can even download information for all players as an Excel file for your own use. Pretty neat. I'd recommend having it on hand for the draft.
