the thing is, it's really not all that early any longer. Only 33 of the top 100 are left- with 21 of those being in the top 32.

Also using the Pac 12's actual numbers, Arizona and UCLA are already using the past 5 years average ratings- clinched top 10 classes. Washington clinched a top 20 class. 5 in the top 40.

even using the lazy just number of star guys...
P12 2 5 star 17 4 star
BE 0 5 star 15 4 star

P12 with a pretty big lead. And of the remaining top 32 guys- P12 in the lead for 4 of them, BE with 0. And of all the 4 star guys, only Beatty at #125 is favored to go Big East now.

The thing that's a joke is that the statement that this may end up being one of the best classes in the history of college sports was even uttered. Kind of tough to be one of the best classes in history when it's not even the best class of the season.

Yep, business as usual in this thread. BE signs another elite recruit and not much later stever posts, "let me tell you why the sky is still falling for the BE".

I have to hand it to him in the sense that he always seems to remain calm in his posts. He keeps shoveling it, but he never seems to loose it. It's as though he's on a constant Xanax drip whenever he's on this site.

He's still in this mode:

As the Big East continues to strengthen, we'll see if and when he arrives at this mode:

I'm not saying the sky is still falling. I'm saying the asinine comment of this could be the best class in college history- is just that- asinine. With the current projections of the remaining players- BE only getting 1(and in a lot of cases, BE not even involved at all), it might not even be the best class in NBE history.

top 50- '14 had 4, '17 has 3
51-100 '14 had 11, '17 has 8
101-150 '14 had 6, '17 has 4

So '17 has closed the gap quite a bit with these last 2 guys. If could get I think even 2 more top 50 guys, I'd probably even call this year better.

The one difference between the 2 classes IMO- the '14 class was a lot more consolidated. 4 top 20 classes. This class a lot more spread out with all the teams.

Stever starting to admit defeat? This may end up being one of the best classes in the history of college sports!

2017: 0 five star and 15 four stars
2016: 1 five star and 12 four stars
2015: 2 five stars and 9 four stars
2014: 1 five star and 16 four stars
2013: 0 five star and 10 four stars

Top 50 Classes:
#4 Xavier
#10 Butler
#26 Villanova
#31 Creighton
#35 Marquette
#38 Providence

#53 DePaul
#61 Georgetown
#69 Seton Hall
#71 St. John's

All 10 teams are within the first 71 positions.

best classes in the history of college sports???

Pac 12 right now has 4 teams in the top 11. with just those 4 teams having 2 5 stars and 10 4 stars. 5 in the top 20. 8 teams right now in the top 50. 17 4 stars as a conference. With geography still favoring them on a lot of the remaining recruits.

Come on man. Re-read my post, it was a joke. As in, WOW Stever actually admitting he's wrong for once, this must be an incredible class!!!!!

Adoraz, sorry, I missed it. sorry about that.....

I wish we could get 3-4 more guys and make this class the best one yet for the BE. Just things not favoring that at all....

It's amazing if the crystal ball is correct, those numbers about getting 2-3 more after September would be spot on yet again.

Whatever, stever. There are 26 pages of evidence in this thread alone, plus over 4 years of your posting history that prove otherwise.

That asisine comment was in jest apparently, if not I and most on this board will let it slide as just hyperbole because he obviously has a self-inflicted concussion from banging his head against a wall trying to have a rational common sense discussion with you.

Don't worry Stever, next time when I'm telling a joke I'll spell it out for you. Should've known that you'd do everything possible to discredit the Big East and derail this thread when given a chance.

Update for today:
Xavier 4
Butler 10
Nova 27
Creighton 32
Marquette 38
Providence 41

top 50 guys left- 27
51-100 left 5
101-150 left 10

so only 42 of the top 150 guys left now. With 19 of them in the top 24(so almost 80%). Signing day is only 16 days away now- November 9.
