Agreed Seton Hall awfully low.

I'm choosing to focus on the fact that 7/10 teams are in the top 50!

If this ends up being close to what the RPI and KenPom is, we'll be close to 7 teams in.

looking at the 5 years since expansion to 68 where they revealed the seeds...
2012- 47
2013- 50
2014- 47
2015- 46
2016- 45

So 46 would be in for 4/5 seasons.
49 would be in for 1/5 seasons.

Projections for Seton Hall this year are kind of all over the place because nobody really knows what to expect. They return a ton of talent an experience, but obviously lose a huge piece in Isaiah Whitehead. This pick at #46 is one of the lower ones I've seen. On the other hand, college sports madness has them in the top 22 and counting.

Is it possible that they'll really feel the loss of Whitehead and won't be anywhere near as good as last year? Sure. A lot of people are predicting that. However, a lot of people are also predicting just the opposite- that they'll be even better without him. Reasons being that they should be just as good defensively as last year and that they'll be much more difficult to defend as their scoring will be more spread out.

Personally, I don't think they'll take a step backward and could certainly take a step forward for the large majority of how they play- but the big question that needs to be answered is who takes and makes that clutch shot late in the game. Those were the situations Whitehead really thrived in. As a result, nobody else really has much experience with the ball in their hands in that spot. Who wants it? My guess is Carrington, but we'll see.

I agree, but I love the fact that we have 7 teams in the top 50, and are the only league with 2 teams in the top 5.
Xavier will surprise. Never count them out of the Dance.

The thing with that is that the place where that would be felt negatively would be early in the season with the big OOC games. Iowa, Advocare with Florida 1st, Cal, South Carolina. None at home. Like by the time they figure things out, they might have 4 or 5 OOC losses, with one being Florida so no playing Gonzaga 2nd round.

I don't really think they'll have more "figuring things out" to do than most other teams. They return all but 3 guys (one of which hardly played) and 4 of 5 starters, so the chemistry is gonna be there. Sure, they'll be working in a new point guard, but an experienced pass first guard should hardly cause much difficulty.

Agreed. As an experienced, defensive minded team, they will get their opportunities to correct such misperceptions. Go Seton Hall. As a reminder...I have them 2nd in the conference this season.

The Seton Hall disrespect is real.
