also looking at the last 5 years nation wide- here's the average of the schools in the 10,20,30,40,50 slots....
10- 64.80
20- 59.96
30- 54.92
40- 49.07
50- 44.91

right now, here's this years numbers for BE schools.....
X 53.82(so right now just under 30th)
V 48.22(just under 40th)
B 46.75(mid 40's)
C 45.74(mid 40's)
M 43.65(just out of top 50)
PC 42.61(just out of top 50)
SH 26.83
SJ 25.54
D 18.97

So right now, have 4 locks for top 50 just about(Butler and Creighton's current number would have been out both in '15, Creighton's current number also out in '14). 2 others that are already borderline(though would have gotten in top 50 once in last 5 years).

so was looking at who all is left from this years class....
1-50- 31 guys
51-138- 33 guys

so would need to get 6 of the last 64 guys to top the 2014 class(and hope that the kid PC has- Dickens- doesn't fall as he's the next to last 4 star kid- and before you ask- the next closest kid is almost 40 spots into 3 star land).

Also would say geography isn't great of the remaining 64 kids left.....
8 of the final 64 are from Georgia.
6 are from California
3 states tied for 3rd with 5. Florida, Texas, and New York.

so right there of 64, 24 are from Georgia, California, Florida, and Texas. Another 3 from Alabama, 2 from Nevada, Washington, and Tennessee, and singles from Oklahoma, Australia, South Carolina, Utah, Kansas, Louisiana, and North Carolina. So that's 40 of the 64 where geographically you could easily say that Big East schools are at a big disadvantage. Of the other 24, 12 are top 50- with 8 of those 12 being 5 star guys.

So to get the 6, would need to get 1/4 of the 24 that are reasonable for geography- or "poach" someone from outside the region.

2017 4-star SG Christian David commits tonight at 8pm. All signs point to Butler.

If David commits, that would be:

2017: 0 five star and 13 four stars
2016: 1 five star and 12 four stars
2015: 2 five stars and 9 four stars
2014: 1 five star and 16 four stars
2013: 0 five star and 10 four stars

At that point we'd be just one or two recruits away from the second best class. :)

Most likely we'll end up with a class that's only slightly behind the 2014 class. Considering we're following up a much stronger class than the 2013 class, I think it's safe to say recruiting is better than ever.

Except that 2013 11 top 116, 2015 9 top 116. 2016 11 top 116 guys. So tough to say that the 2016 class was much stronger than 2013.

And 2014 had 15 guys in the top 100. right now, BE has 7. Really tough to say that this class is only slightly behind the 2014 class.

You're kidding, right? "Top 116"?? Yeah let's use a standard metric like top 116 rather than 4/5 star recruits. Why not top 127? Or top 134? Or top 139, 140, 143? Oh I see why...

In fact, if you take the top 143 then the 2016 class has FIVE more recruits than the 2013 class.

You really should be banned, or have posts like that deleted. Seriously a waste of time.

Also your second statement is inaccurate. Currently there's 8 top 100 recruits. and 9 if David commits tonight.

ok top 100 players....
2017 9(I miscounted- and adding for David)
2016 7
2015 7
2014 15
2013 10

The 2017 class is good in that we're getting more top 100 guys. But I'm sorry- just because we're loading up on guys in the 101 and up realm- doesn't mean this class is anywhere near the 2014 class. 15 top 100 guys is pretty damn impressive.
