And before any of you homers start bitching and moaning about this wouldn't happen at the chosen schools, the exact same thing with the exact same result happened to Kansas with Ben Mclemore.
Is it the same issue?
The issue with Ben Mclemore was that they were uncertain as to whether or not some of his high school classes met the standards of being core classes that could count toward initial eligibility. It took them forever to decide (which actually isn't unusual), but they ultimately said that they were core classes and he could count them and that he was eligible.
Exactly what standard of initial eligibility did Spellman fail to meet? Have they even said?
Thanks.

Sorry, low blow. That being said, happy that you have something to hang your hat on.

Awwww are your feewings hurt? Jokes about players long gone aren't low blows. I could make a Gary McClain cocaine joke but who really cares about the past.
You can't have thin skin while sitting on the top. Are you guys Duke fans now?

The NCAA, in it's infinite, pathetic "wisdom" has decided that a fully qualified, student-athlete should sit out from playing games for a full year because he played a few high school games while in 8th / 9th grade and then reclassified
ChestRockwell85 wrote:David, I am not really sure. To be honest, the bottom line is when a school like UNC is allowed to get away with all the nonsense they have gotten away with, it leaves a bad taste in people's mouths to see something like this become an issue. I, like most Villanova fans, feel that because we are not UNC, or a school like Kentucky, the NCAA is using us to make an example, meanwhile the football schools blow farts in their face and they don't do anything about it.
It is something most Big East fans should be able to get behind because it shows them if it was their school, they would have to deal with this as well. Also, you would expect most Big East fans wouldn't revel in the fact that Villanova is now going to be hurt by the fact the NCAA decided to nitpick. Another strong year from Villanova will obviously help the Big East, and since certain schools have done VERY LITTLE for a VERY LONG time, the Big East, a league with only 10 schools, needs all the help it can get.
