Oregon #2? Oregon? Really? Is Phil Knight slipping $100 bills in the writers pockets?

I don't know if I'd have Oregon at #2, but I think they're definitely top five. I don't think having them at #2 is all the way off base. They won thirty games last year, won the Pac Twelve Tournament, won 11 straight to end the season before losing in the Elite Eight, and they have five of their top six players back along with a very good freshman point guard. Oregon is going to be pretty damn good.

I was thinking the same thing. Butler has what Seton Hall and Georgetown don't have and that's a bonafide scorer. It goes a long way in college hoops.

how about this- it goes a long way in hoops period. If you can score the ball, you are going to be extremely valuable. I don't care if it's college hoops, NBA, or youth hoops.

LJ Peak and Rodney Pryor are bonafide scorers.

Yes, yes...I also think Butler at 16th is crazy. Don't worry.

Am I missing something about Wisconsin? I realize they upset X in the tournament but at the end of the day X was a 2 seed and Wisconsin was a 7 seed. Do they have some 5 star recruits coming in?

From what I'm reading on certain sites the fact they aren't losing anybody and a lot are planning on their big man Ethan Happ to have a breakout season.

I'm actually really big on Wisconsin this year. You have to keep in mind that they finished the regular season 11-2 and beat four teams that finished the regular season in the top 25 in that stretch. Keep in mind that as good at Xavier was, they only beat two teams that ended the regular season in the rankings. Wisconsin was red hot, and really did blow it against Notre Dame in the Sweet Sixteen, so they were very close to being an Elite Eight team. They have a lot of players back for this year. Yeah, they were a #7 seed, but that had a lot more to do with the first half of the year than it did with the second. If the committee still considered a team's last ten games there is no way Wisconsin would have been seeded as low as #7. It was really unfortunate for Xavier because I think they would have clobbered just about any other #7 seed. Or, any other #6 seed for that matter.

They play in a weak power conference only decent OOC win was against Baylor and they lost to both UNLV and Boise St. They beat Duke in the NCAA's but lost to both Cal and Stanford back to back. Nothing that screams top 5 to me. Not while putting Nova below them.
