here's the hole with that argument. Christion was higher rated than any of those.

Blueitt #39
Macura #100
Summer #106

Christion #29
Reynolds #105

Wells #54
Davis #104

So Christion was better than Blueitt, and they've gotten guys similarly rated as Macura and Summer regularly before. Gumby's numbers are excellent showing how the 2 periods are almost exactly the same- and totally agree with him dropping out the '13 class(which like he said was an anomaly for Xavier anyways). It just shows how well Xavier did before in the A10. And would also note that Xavier had a pretty good class in 2008 as well.

updated class ranks thru today...(orig is 1st post back on 7/23)
Xavier 7/orig 37
Villanova 12/orig 23
Butler 16/orig 50
Creighton 18/orig 7
St John's 34/orig 22
Seton Hall 39/orig 21
Providence 50/orig 26

DePaul 56/orig 38
Marquette 62/orig 43
Georgetown NR

still only 79 schools ranked.

X, Nova, and Butler improved quite a bit. Creighton, St John's both with about a 10 spot drop. Seton Hall, PC, DePaul, and Marquette with bigger about 20 spot drops.

still left
1-10- 7/10
11-20 9/10 (so top 20 16/20)
21-30 6/10 (so top 30 22/30)
31-40 7/10 (so top 40 29/40)
41-50 6/10 (so top 50 35/50)
51-60 7/10 (so top 60 42/60)
61-70 3/10 (so top 70 45/70)
71-80 4/10 (so top 80 49/80)
81-90 4/10 (so top 90 53/90)
91-100 6/10 (so top 100 59/100)

So 1-33 23/33
34-66 20/33
67-100 16/34

1-50 35/50
51-100 24/50

PC will be climbing back up a bit as they just received a commitment from Nate Watson, a consensus top 100 PF.

um, how about not just a bit. How does #21 sound?

This goes to my original point- it's even now way too early for the class ranks. And that's like 7 weeks since the original thread started.

There's a hole with your Christion arguement. He wasn't leaving the city and Cincinnati wasn't pushing for a commitment so there was only one place he would go.

maybe so- but they had gotten commitments from good guys before.. Look at what Gumby did. The recruiting from 09-12 exactly the same statistically as 14-17. And '09 was a bad class quite frankly with the coaching change.

Lol Stever has ate so much crow this topic.

2017: 11 four stars
2016: 1 five star and 12 four stars
2015: 2 five stars and 9 four stars

For the thousandth time, Stever, if you want to know the purpose of this topic just read the title. For the first month you downplayed our recruiting in 2017. Now that the number of 4 star recruits has continued to grow (shocking) and didn't stop like you predicted, not even you can deny the results. So you've moved on to other trivial things to downplay our league.

AAC btw still only has 1 four star recruit. ACC has 7 (and zero 5 star).

Should be added that The Big East is accomplishing this with ZERO help from stever's Georgetown.

And 2014 had 1 5 star and 16 4 star guys. Going to be really tough to beat that class. With 4 top 20 classes.

And with needing a 5 star and 5 more 4 star guys to top 2014, there is only 72 4-5 star guys left. And there's only 72 4 star guys left out of 142. You say there's still half left then. That's true. But 40 of those 72 guys are in the top 60. And those are the guys that the Big East doesn't get all that many of.

Yeah which is crazy if someone told you this just a couple years ago.

Can't wait for Stever to reply to my last post by only acknowledging the final line (ACC has 7 four star recruits and 0 five stars) with a ten paragraph rebuttal about how Duke/Syracuse/UNC/Louisville are favored with a million five star recruits. Thus, as usual, completely ignoring (or missing?) the point of the post.

Really a master of trolling.
