The United Center wanted DePaul to play all of it's games at the UC, rent free.

1- true road OOC games are getting more and more rare. From last year a few teams.....
Kentucky- 1 road game
UNC- 2 road games
UVA- 2 road games(1 in ACC/Big Ten Challenge)
Mich St- 1 road game(vs Northeastern)
Oklahoma- 1 road game
West Va- 1 road game
Louisville- 2 road games- 1 in acc/big ten challenge, other vs Kentucky

2- Butler and Creighton were both mid-major 3 years ago. Creighton gets to play Nebraska because frankly Nebraska sucks and has no leverage. It's no where near the same type of situation that Butler faces with schools there.

3- like I've said- teams don't need DePaul to play in Chicago. Or St John's to play in MSG. all these teams are playing at MSG this season...
Marquette, Michigan, Pittsburgh, SMU
Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan St
UConn,Syracuse
Arizona St, Purdue, Duke, Florida

between the exempt tournaments and the 1 day special events like the Champions Classic and the Jimmy V classic- teams don't need to schedule a home and home with St John's for instance like they used to.

Oh and 1 thing to remember- if conferences ever do go up to 20 conference games- the number of home and home series would severely decrease. You'd have 20 conference games, 4 game exempt tournament, maybe a neutral site game, and then the other 6 would be buy games.

But they do. You can't play in the same preseason tourny every year. Yes, those teams are playing there THIS season. How many of them are playing there NEXT season? The season after that?

a lot of those teams seem to find their way to NYC to play pretty much every year.
Duke played there last year
Pittsburgh played there last year
Kentucky played in Brooklyn last year
UConn played there last year

There's so many events at MSG that if a team wants to play there, they can. Teams don't need St John's to play in NYC. Add in Barclay's and you have a lot of teams going to NYC this year without playing St John's.

And considering ESPN owns a lot of the events that go to NYC- teams that want to play there won't have an issue. I mean, do you really think Syracuse (with AD being former ESPN guy)- would have any problem playing at MSG now?

Illinois won't play DePaul. Is Northwestern playing DePaul again? I think the new arena will draw some other Big Ten schools. Like, an Iowa, Purdue, Oh.st. The plan for almost all Chicago talent, is to get them out of Chicago.

yuck. pretty weak schedule. Better hope they beat Wisconsin and Arizona St- or be far enough off the bubble where it won't matter....

Absolutely must beat Washington St 1st rd of Paradise Jam to get a 2nd rd game with NC State. then would get at least Ole Miss or St Joe's in the 3rd rd.... Otherwise could be Wash St/Montana/Oral Roberts or Loyola-Chicago.

Yep, and they'd be relegated to only weekday games. At the UC, DePaul would have to schedule around the Blackhawks, Bulls, the annual circus, and some random big name concerts. At the Rosemont Horizon, they are only fighting against the Wolves (minor league hockey) and lesser concerts.

I'll give it a B.
Akron, Buffalo and ORU are great "buy" games.

Wisconsin will be huge!
