He's definitely a talent but SJU would have to finish in the top half and he'd have to separate himself from others on his team.

And like I said, he's gonna be a beast this season. The kid has unbelievable athleticism and with another year under his belt and can actually play the entire season not just the second half he's going to really flex his muscles. Four of the six first teamers from last season are gone. Only Blueitt and Hart return. Yakwe are just as good if not better than all those guys on that second list.

Except Yakwe hasn't actually done anything to show he is as good as or better than any of those guys on the list. Much like your boy Slice never actually did anything to help St. Johns become the great power you see them as in you Queens tinted glasses. Hope Yakwe works on his FT shooting if he is going to be a "beast" this year. Otherwise he will just be another guy who can't stay on the floor in important situations because he can't shoot.[/quote]

Well since we have the #1 recruiting class coming in this year all from Matt A we didn't need Slice. What has Macurra done besides be an obnoxious little punk? He did good against your boys almost beating them twice when we had our worst season ever and you guys had your best. Better hope he doesn't improve his offense because that means more losses on that record. Oh and he was a true freshman who was only eligible for the second half of the season. So in just one half of play he made the all freshmen team. Seems like he did enough to impress the coaches in the league. Also this article thinks he'll be a big break out player this season. So keep on hating and we'll keep on giving you all you can handle.

Yes... the combined 18 points that Yakwe scored in his 2 games against us and the combined 50ish points you lost to us last year by was all we could handle...

i didnt know someone could force relevancy upon the same two losses over and over again, its like you want everyone to know just how arbitrarily close you were to beating Xavier twice..if you'd like, I'll start keeping track . you may be on pace to break some offseason posting records!

Is Edmond already considered broken out? I would think not with Brunson, Cheatham and the rest being on the list, but there's no way you could leave him off a list like this

This time last year I was pumping up Sumner, but this year I actually think Kaiser Gates will mean more to this team. Very good shooter, agile, unselfish, now knows how to position himself and will defend well (maybe best on team). "Breakout Player'? " Absolutely. He will play HUGE minutes.

"Breakout Players" is obviously highly subjective. You got guys like Mikhail Bridges, Phil Booth, Jalen Brunson and JP Macura -- all arguably household names -- that averaged single-digits in points last season. Then, you have guys like Eli Cain and Federico Mussini -- who both averaged over 10ppg last season -- but casual fans probably have no idea who they are.

Good point.

I think a better angle is who is the guy on each BE team may not have done much last year, but will step forward and make a huge impact (like Sumner did for X or Kelan M for Butler last year), Yawke is probably a good choice for SJU. A few others IMO:
CU - Foster
X - Gates
G'town - White
VU - Paschall
