The Nets also picked up SG C. LeVert in the first round. He will have a guaranteed contract.

LeVert comes to the Nets via a very Hoosier friendly trade of Thad Young to the Pacers for the pick. Thank you Brooklyn.

I like the fact that the nets bought the pick to specifically select whitehead. It means they were targeting him all along. He's in a good situation. Hometown kid with a rebuilding team.

saw this from Jon Rothstein...

Celtics nugget: team attended at least one of PC's practices per week for the last two years to see Kris Dunn, source told @CBSSports.

I wonder if that's why they drafted Bentil all the way down at 51.

I'm surprised Boston didn't draft Dunn to trade for Jimmy Butler. I read somewhere that the Bulls wanted Dunn and Crowder for Butler don't remember where I read it though... Just thinking of Butler and Crowder makes me wonder how that 2011 Marquette team was an 11 seed and how easy they got it that year with Xavier being a 6 seed(Xavier's record was deserving of a 6 seed that year but the talent was not)

Inability to close out games, that team lost buzzer beaters to Louisville and Vanderbilt. Choked in the final minute against Duke, Gonzaga, Cinci, and Notre Dame.

As far as the X team isn't it strange that hindsight is 20/20? You guys had Tu Halloway tearing up the world and Kenny Freeze down low. Plus you still had a decent Mark Lyons. Back then I used to go on the ESPN pregame boards and the X fans were convinced they were headed to the final four that year.

The Nets are already using IW on twitter and instagram as the face of their social media marketing... They are also using him in emails asking for people to buy season tickets... And today they will be holding a press conference/meet & greet on the Coney Island boardwalk with IW.

It seems like they are going "all in" on IW as the homegrown future of their organization...

I just hope he got some sort of guaranteed amount of $$ & years out of it.

Maybe before the Crosstown Shootout fight we had aspirations for the Final Four. We were ranked #8 in the country at the time and playing as well as anybody. After it though, the team was never the same.

Changing discussion to foresight, who gets to the next Final Four first, Marquette or Xavier?

You guys are talking about 2 different years. Marquette beat Xavier in '10-'11 and then the brawl happened the next basketball season '11-'12. Xavier actually got to the sweet 16 the year of the brawl (thanks Lehigh!) before losing to Baylor.
