I love the love the Jays are getting, but wow! Our interior defense better get much, much better and fast if we want to hold our position in the standings.

Shouldn't be a problem with Justin Patton coming available. That's basically about how I see the league shaking out next season.

FWIW, Parrish kinda has a weird Butler fetish.

I think 95% of our fanbase would say he's crazy for having us in the Top 25.

Crazy, no... Overly optimistic on some of our new players, yes.

Predicting the 2016-17 Big East College Basketball Standings - Bleacher Report - August 8, 2016

It will never be the "Old" Big East again, but this conference will be more loaded for the 2016-17 college basketball season than it has been since dropping down to 10 teams several years ago.

Villanova repeating as national champions is a strong possibility, as is Xavier dethroning the Wildcats to grab its first conference title since leaving the A10.

Creighton and Georgetown have both been heralded as sexy sleepers, but Marquette might be the actual sleeper in a Big East that could legitimately send seven teams to the NCAA tournament.

1. Villanova
2. Xavier
3. Creighton
4. Georgetown
5. Butler
6. Marquette
7. Seton Hall
8. Providence
9. St. John’s
10. DePaul

I think likely underestimating Seton Hall.

Yeah, the write-up on Seton Hall basically said that Whitehead was a one-man team last year and they'll suck without him. The writer probably didn't see the Hall play more than maybe once or twice, so it's easy to fall into that trap I guess. Fact is, Seton Hall was fully capable of winning against strong opponents when Whitehead was off his game- the key, however, was Whitehead realizing he didn't have it that night and distributing to his teammates instead. They got in trouble on the few occasions when Whitehead was off and insisted on trying to shoot his way out of the slump (eg: Gonzaga).

The lack of a true point guard will be an issue, but they didn't have one last year either with Whitehead learning on the job. They return a talented team of mainly juniors so, even in a tough Big East, I'd be very surprised if they didn't finish in the top half.
