The Johnnies don't even put a game there on that date during the previous marathons because it would be a logistical nightmare as the trains into the City are packed and there are too many road closures.

MSG hosts events on new years. Logistically it is fine. I doubt 12k fans heading to midtown at noon or two on new years eve would be frowned upon or create too big a burden compared to the 20k hippies who show up for the phish show at night on new year's eve.

1. Throwback uniforms: some teams already do this. Villanova and seton hall have been ndoing it for a while

2. Star add ons: sure, but doubtful it would actually happen.

3. Unitas style shoes: sneaker companies pay big bucks to sponsor teams. They would have to approve. Not sure this is an idea that has much bite to it anyway.

4. BET Stuff: bad idea. This isnt an allstar break in terms of timing. Need the kids to focus on the games.

5. NYE marathon. MSG already has night tenants for NYE (concerts). But if the big east could pull it off it would be cool.

6. Youth leagues: go for it

7. Floor decals: sure, i guess. I tgink each team already does what it thinks is appropriate on its floor though.

8. Mascot races. Uh, sure i guess. Go for it.

I like the sponsoring youth leagues idea, although i have no idea how much something like that would cost or the magnitude of such a project.

1. A challenge with the Pac-12 (only if all of their teams participate. UA and UCLA have to take part.)

2. A scheduling alliance with the WCC. Not a challenge just a show of support for our west coast private catholic brethren. Also help us gain more exposure on the west coast.

3. Working with the B1G to make all of our regional rivalries annual. GTown/Maryland, extending the Crossroads Classic, NW/DePaul, X/OSU and even Nova/PSU. Yes, I know Nova fans they stink but kicking their heads in every year will help remind them who actually owns the state.

4. Throw back weekends. Not just some teams some games but every team for a whole weekend or a whole week. encourage the coaches like Wojo to dress like Al in the crazy 70's fasion, maybe Mullin can wear a crazy sweater.

5. A Big East alumni tourny every year at MSG. All members who were ever once a member in a pre-season tourny at MSG once every four years like the world cup. Could you imagine the excitement fro something like that? Just look at the star power in that arena.

Cuse, GTown, UConn, Louisville, Pitt, Nova, X, Marquette, WVU, Butler, Providence, BC, Cincy, Miami, SJU, Notre Dame, Seton Hall, Creighton, VT, DePaul and USF

22 teams battle it out every 4 years for the MSG Cup.

I know that last one is the longest of long shots/never gonna happens. Would be great though.
