The responses have been from lukewarm to not happy so far on our board... I'm in the lukewarm camp, in that he could develop in a new atmosphere, but not sure his ceiling is much above 10-15 mins off the bench.
Lets go Dawgs!

I'm assuming Butler is hoping/expecting some big gets in the 2017 recruiting class

The 2017 class in the Indianapolis area is very, very good. We are in a decent spot with a few of the recruits (Jaren Jackson Jr., Kris Wilkes in particular). FWIW, though, I think Wilkes will end up at UK (when the offer comes), but I think we will end up in at least the top three for Jackson Jr.. Still, I'm not convinced he's going to Butler.

In my opinion, 2017 is a real make-or-break year for Butler moving forward. If we want to take that next big step and be a long-term, top-half contender in this league, we need to make some moves in 2017. 8-)

Indiana has six 5 or 4 star basketball players in 2017. But it doesn't look like we will get any. Kris Wilkes looks like either Kentucky or IU. We had an in with Lewis, but that is gone with Lewis' departure. Bowen and Williams are likely headed to Michigan State, Scuggs to IU, Jackson to Maryland or IU and Nunge to Vandy. We will have to lock in on the 3 stars.

Not to change this to a Xavier topic but According to MusketeerReport on the Scout website the top two for Scruggs right now are Xavier and Michigan State. Scruggs took a visit to Xavier this weekend. Being top 2 for a kid who isn't ready to make a decision yet isn't huge but it's something I guess. But if Butler can get 1-2 kids out of the Indiana area with the talent is 2017 it would make for a good recruiting class.

It pisses me off how lucky X is to be close, but not too close to Indy. Great strategic location for recruiting some of the best talent in the nation. Being the school in the same neighborhood you grew up in isn't a good thing in too many cases...

Butler has made some major campus upgrades recently, and I'm hoping its enough to start to pull some of these kids in. Its an interesting dilemma.

Holtmann agreed to an extension through 2022.
