It's the administration at the school. How much support are they giving the program. I can only speak for PC but this current administration is making it happen. Cooley mentions it constantly. Father Shanley happens to be a PC alum and was there at the founding of the original BE, and was a leader in the effort this time as well. He gets it and his support is why we are getting ready to break ground on a $50 mil on campus men's facility.
If this factor was taken into account it's a reason why St. Johns and Depaul are not currently the best jobs
I'd do some research before acting like St. John's administration isn't supporting the basketball program.
That's fair, but it completely supports my point. Your new President is substantially better at it than Father Harrington correct? St. Johns aside do you agree with my point? Honestly I had forgotten Harrington resigned.

DePaul is paying half the costs of the construction of the arena... around $80 million.
I'm not sure how that counts as not building anything.

I would definitely say that is building something I had no idea it was that much money. That's a serious commitment. I assume they will pay no rent and get some of the parking and concession revenue with that kind of commitment.

As a Creighton fan, I'd rank the Jays last in the BE as a coaching destination. They obviously don't have the blueblood tradition of a GT or Nova, and the state of Nebraska has by far the worst local talent of any of the BE states. However, we arguably have among the best facilities in the league with the Century Link Center and the Championship center. CU has 3 solid guys in the NBA right now. The Jays have an excellent basketball history, tradition, and legacy. Prior to joining the BE, Creighton was the name of the Valley, and Dana Altman made CU a mid-major powerhouse.
IMHO, out of the 3 "new" Big East schools, (CU, X, Butler), Creighton may have the most potential. The BE has boosted our recruiting to the proper 4 star levels we have in the 17 class. Recruiting, program investment, and good coaching will translate into great NCAA tourney runs (2016/17 - 2020/21). Creighton will be a perennial top 25 program for the conference.

I think out of the 3 "new" Big East schools, (CU, X, Butler), Creighton may have the most potential. If we keep recruiting at the level we have in the 17 class, and that can translate into some NCAA tourney runs (at least a S16), I think CU can be a perennial top 30 program. But, those are all big if's.
