Your school's rankings in the polls....

Just some info. I am sure some will take this the wrong way, but whatever...

XAVIER:
1st appearance in the polls was in 1959, but really didn't start making an impact until the late 1980's.

Very nice run after they broke through:
Since 1988 (29 years)
Ranked in 18 seasons
Ranked in the top 10 6 times (2016, 2012, 2009, 2008, 2003, 1998)
Only ranked in one season over the past 4 years

Only started the season ranked 4 times in that 29 year span (2012, 2003, 1999, 1998)
Finished the season ranked 11 times
UNDERRATED!
(But it should be noted that all 4 times Xavier started the season ranked, they finished worse than expected)

GEORGETOWN

Breaking the Hoya's down to 3 time priods

1978-1996 (The Amazing Years):
Georgetown basketball began in 1978. Their first time in the polls.
Georgetown then remained in the polls every year from 1978 through 1996 (19 seasons), always in at least the top 16, with 13 of those seasons in the top 10
In 10 of those seasons from 1978-1996, the Hoyas were ranked in the top 5.
The Hoyas began each year from 1980 through 1996 in the top 20, with 7 of those years starting in the top 10.

1997-2005 (The Down Years)
Unranked to start 2001 season, climbed up to #9, and finished at 21
Started 2002 season at 14, high water mark of the season, finished unranked

2006-Present (Return to Glory)
Georgetown has been ranked in 9 of the last 11 years
Georgetown has been ranked in the top 10 in 7 of the past 11 years (2007-2013)

Georgetown has not started a season pre-season ranked since 2012, and their only ranking in the past three years was as #21 in the 2015 season.

DEPAUL

DePaul's last visit to the top 25 was in 2001.
In 2000 and 2001, they started the year ranked in the 20's, peaked at 18 and 21, and finished the seasons unranked.
Prior to 2000/2001 seasons, DePaul had not been ranked since 1992

The 17 seasons from 1976-1992 (The Amazing Years)
Ranked 14 times
Ranked in the top 5 seven times
Ranked 1 or 2 five times and finished the season ranked 1 or 2 three times

Unranked from 1966-1975

17 year stretch from 1949 to 1965, ranked 7 times but only finished the season ranked twice.

PROVIDENCE

The last two years ranked as high as 8 and 24, but finished each season unranked
Not ranked from 2005-2014
Ranked 12th in 2004 (finished season 21), ranked 25 in 2001 (finished season unranked)
Unranked in the 1990's
1979-1990: Ranked 20 in 1989, 17 in 1987, finished both seasons unranked

Last time to start a season ranked: 1976
Since 1975, only one season finishing in the top 25 (2004)

Now for the Gavitt years:
1960-1979 (19 years)
Ranked in the top 15 fourteen times
Ranked in the top 10 eight times
Ranked in the top 5 five times, and ranked 3rd three times
Finished the season ranked 4 on two occasions

SETON HALL:

1952-1955 (The First Glory Days)
Ranked #1 in 1952 and 1953 (finished #2 in 1953), ranked #20 in 1955

Unranked from 1956 through 1988

1989-1993 (The Second Glory Days)
Ranked in the top 15 four of the five years, top ten in three of them.
Best ranking = 6
Best final rankings = 6

1994-1999 = unranked

2000 ranked 23 at one point, unranked to finish the season
2001 ranked 10 to start and as high as 7, but imploded and finished the season unranked (an implosion that would make this year's Georgetown team proud)

Unranked from 2001 to 2012

Kevin Willard:
Ranked from 19 and up in 2012, 2015, and 2016
Obviously only finished strong in one of those years, but back in the polls.
If Whitehead returns, should start the season ranked next year.

The rest to come later....
