Tim Thomas was a lot like HE. One and done so you'd think he didn't have the same ties or allegiance to Nova as four year players. WRONG. Came back and regularly worked with Nova players in off season workouts, and gave a LOT of money back to the school which he earned in his 14 year NBA career.

I think this is a BIG mistake for Wojo. It shows the current players that he has no loyalty and that they too could be replaced if someone outside the program catches his eye. Let the schools like UK make the types of decisions where the pursuit of talent trumps all else. We, as a conference, should aspire for better. It's one thing if you sit down and have a mutual conversation where both player and coach decide it's best for both parties to move on. There are 13 scholarships and only 8-9 kids who play. Is the 13th guy that critical to a team's success at the risk of treating the program like a business instead of a family? I don't.

That's a great touchy-feely sentiment to have when your school just won the national championship. Marquette needs to win were losing season ticket holders and attendance at huge rates and winning solves that. we need to get big again before the new arena happens, Wojo realizes that next year is the first year where he doesn't have an excuse for losing. Wally was not going to aid us in winning. If Wojo gets us to the national championship with a team full of players that could start on 90% of the teams in the country then great I'll revise my stance but till then he should cut any player who won't truly contribute.

You're right MUBox. Maybe he should just bring in 12 new players and hold tryouts.

Then we'd be young again. How would that help us win?

I didn't say bring in 12 Freshmen. There are plenty of graduate transfers, etc. Just bring in as many players as you can, let them battle it out in tryouts and let the best 12 remain, regardless of whether or not they were loyal program players or not.

First once again it's easy for you to throw around words like loyalty and everything because you're sitting high after a national championship. If it had been three years without postseason you'd be chomping at the bit to win no matter what. Second we have 4 returning players that averaged double figures. Beyond HC, JJJ, Wilson and Fischer every player needs to turn it to another level.

They better bring in a difference maker for the trouble. If this is some fringe player or non impact starter then, the juice aint worth the squeezin'.

This I agree with. I'm still holding out hope for LG Gill. That'd be two grad transfers coming in having averaged double digits and four returners. Makes the offense a lot tougher to guard with a distribution like that.

Sitting on it for now, after missing out on Kalif Young and LG Gill. Maybe they ask Wally to come back?
