Do you have intelligent thoughts about the situation? Do you think Xavier was lying about this because they were worried having a top 10 team was going to struggle selling tickets this year? Do you think it is easier getting a top seed when you have top 25 wins or without top 25 wins?
Nova had a couple really tough OOC games last season that they lost, but I'm sure they would argue that those games helped them overall come tourney time. But according to your logic, Nova should have been fine even without those games because of the Big East.

Some of their fans may feel entitled to a home game vs. Michigan State in a very narrow window, but that's not how things work. It'll look fair for all teams involved when you look back 2022.
Totally, totally missing the point.
If Xavier would have known about this 6 months ago, they would have been able to schedule a H-H series against a top opponent.
Xavier let the Big East know over 1 year ago about the scheduling issue and the Big East said it wouldn't be a problem - and in fact, that Xavier would host a game at Cintas against a Big 10 opponent.
Not until April did the Big East tell Xavier they were out. Already participating in a weak-ish Puerto Rico tourney and having an extra buy game this year... and now Xavier is left scrambling to try to find a Top 25 opponent. Mighty fine work, Big East.

given that it's on a Sunday, it's very possible that game would be on CBS. If not likely.

What have I ignored? Do YOU have any intelligent thoughts about the situation besides "We were promised!"? You think the league actively lied to you for what reason? You didn't have the open date, neither did MSU. Chit happens. This isn't the A-10 anymore, you're not a mid-major. Not everything is a conspiracy or slight against you. Nows the time to be a man, quit crying and play the cards you're dealt.

Since it's a Big East home game, wouldn't FOX have the rights to it? They would have to sell it to CBS, correct? So either way a win/win for FOX - even though I am sure you don't want to admit that Stever.
But there were several Sunday's with Big East basketball games on FS1. Specifically Seton Hall - I feel like they had a lot of Sunday conference games.

I don't think the Big East lied. They were just totally incompetent and/or lazy. And that incompetence and laziness on the part of the Big East men's basketball staff will likely have very significant consequences to Xavier's OOC SOS.

What are you trying to get at with that?
No one from Xavier would have cared if last year when Xavier alerted the Big East of potential date conflicts the Big East said, yea, that is too tight of a window and just isn't going to work.
The Big East waited until last week to tell Xavier. The vast majority of team's OOC schedules are set by this point - outside of buy games.
It's not the point that Xavier isn't in it. It's the total incompetence of the Big East men's basketball offices by saying it's fine and they'll make it work for the past year and then the first week of April telling Xavier, sorry - you are out. Good luck filling it.

If it's so incompetent then go back to the A-10. I'm sure Dayton would be happy to take your spot.
