As much as I hope your right I don't see it but it's a long offseason

23 years old with a college degree and ready to make good money in his profession. What isn't smart about that?

My bad, forgot he graduated. I do think this gives Xavier a weakness that they didn't have last year. Losing Farr and Reynolds and replacing it with O'Mara and Gaston will lead to a drop off IMO.

Agreed. Front court will be the big question mark. But all things considered, I think the growth of Sumner and the sophomore class along with newcomers will make this team better than last years.

Sumner without the freshman mistakes is something to look forward to. I wouldn't say the front court is a huge worry since Bluiett might be playing the 4 a lot again but I think it's safe to say the 5 will be a worry

I don't know what Mack has planned, but I do know we will see a ton of Kaiser Gates next year and I expect him to rebound all over the floor.

Losing Farr and Reynolds will hurt, but X will be fine. A lot of talent remaining. Still see them as a top 15 school next year.

IMHO, losing Farr's rebounding skills is going to hurt the Muskies more than losing Reynolds' monster jams. With all their firepower from outside (Davis, Macura, Sumner, Blueitt, and the incoming Goodin), the Muskies just need a post player or two who doesn't get totally dominated on the boards. If only 1 of O'Meara, Gaston, or Gates can rebound decently and not get dominated inside, X will be able to compete well with anybody; if 2 of those 3 improve even a little bit between now and next fall, watch out world.

Quite honestly, Jalen was not very good around the rim for most of the year. Losing Farr hurts because of his rebounding and reliable scoring, but O'Mara may have been our best scorer in the low post last year, as far as efficiency and effectiveness around the rim and I think Gaston will be a good player. We're also bringing along some other athletic forwards who will do nothing if not rebound this year and add Kaiser Gates playing a bigger role and I don't think the frontcourt will be a problem at all.

All this is about as true as it gets but it's hard to say the front court won't be a problem because of all unproven pieces.

Okay, well I don't think it will be any more of a problem than it was last year. By that I mean, I would expect to once again dominate the glass and get decent offensive production. I think it will help us more than it will hurt us.
