Chris and his staff had this team in the top 10 in the country and competed to the end for the Big East Championship.

"This season proved what we all knew, that if you can compete for a Big East Championship, you can win a National Championship. That is our goal. Chris, our staff and I have talked extensively about what our needs are to achieve those lofty goals. We are constantly evaluating every aspect of the department and program. We all want to enhance our student-athlete experience and give ourselves the best opportunity to earn a championship."

His job as Coach is endowed by a multi-millionaire Cincinnati family, so I'm guessing "whatever it takes".

Great job X, lock him up and throw away the key. Mack at X has the potential to be at the level of other coaches who stayed for long periods of time nd had great success like Jim B, Calhoun, Coach K, Izzo etc. I like that half the league has guys who are at their dream jobs. Mack, Wright, Cooley, Mullin, JTIII. I think guys like Holtman, Wojo and McDermott could end up in the same boat. Long term stability within our programs is great for the league. Also Familiarity breeds contempt, so watch for the rivalries start to form and all this kumbaya **** can end. hahaha

One thing that Mack can't be knocked for is improvement. I really think he has improved every year so far. I thought he was way too rigid with his offense and defense starting out but lately he has molded both to fit the talent on the team. And the guy is just a relentless recruiter. He is very close to putting it altogether for a NC run.

Extending Mack is one of the biggest off-season pick ups for the conference. He is a great coach that is good for the league. Nice job by X taking care of business.
