I doubt it. I think the Marquette/Utah one is a lot driven by Majerus.

If anything, I'd kind of think the other way- if they were going to do the challenge- they wouldn't have additional P12 games.

Not so fast my man. It ain't necessarily so...
Take the Gavit's for example. Jays play Neb, Marquette plays Wiscy, Butler plays IUand/or Purdue - all annually. We still inked the Gavit Games as a conference. Just means 2 top tier games vs only 1.

I am optimistic that we shall see a BE/PAC12 Challenge - mainly as Fox will be driving the bus/airing the games. Jays already play ASU, so the fact that X and Marquette have scheduled a PAC-12 foe will not be a detriment to any potential Challenge game. It merely means that those named teams will play 2 PAC-12 teams. 2 seasons back Creighton played both ASU and Cal-Berkeley in a single season. No problem. Helps with the issue of upgrading the non-conference schedule as well. A good thing.

Big Difference is that all the ones you mention are local rivalries vs Big Ten schools. Also a huge difference is geography.

Also, Fox would not automatically get all the games- remember ESPN has a part of the Pac 12 TV deal as well...

Until Arizona and UCLA yield- there's going to be no challenge.

Steverrrr. Nice opinion. Here is some reading to further your PAC-12 education. Larry Scott will get a BE/PAC 12 Challenge.

If UCLA and Arizona don't want to be part of it, there's going to be no challenge. End of story.

There's nothing official but Seton Hall could end up with a game @ a Pac12 school. They're playing KU in Hawaii and rumored to be looking for a 2nd game on their trip out west. No guarantee its a high major game, but with the Fox relationship a Pac12 opponent is certainly possible.

Either way, the Hall's OOC schedule is shaping up to be much improved with Kansas, a Gavitt Game, and a strong Advocare Invitational Field (Florida, Gonzaga, Miami, Stanford, Iowa State, Indiana State, Quinnipiac). The cupcake portion of the schedule remains to be seen- hopefully they can at least keep the majority of their weaker opponents in the top 200 this year.

Are you sure they're playing Kansas in Hawaii? I only ask because Kansas already scheduled to play in Hawaii vs Indiana on Veterans Day, and can't see them taking 2 separate trips to Hawaii in 1 year.

Seton Hall just added a game against South Carolina @MSG- the gamecocks just missed out on the NCAAs last year but still a very solid opponent. So what we're looking at now (in no particular order) is:

-Big 10 Opponent (Gavitt Game)
-Advocare Invitational (at least 1 and possibly 3 of Florida, Gonzaga, Miami, Stanford, Iowa State)
-Kansas (In Hawaii)
-South Carolina (MSG)
-Fairleigh Dickinson
-Saint Peter's
-Rutgers

That gives them as many as 6 OOC high major games (7 if you count Rutgers) and there still may be that extra west coast game in the mix that could be an 8th. Oh, and they're practically all neutral court (only Rutgers is home and Gavitt game we don't know yet)

and I just was looking on twitter where someone brought up the Kansas/Indiana game on 11/11. They were like rumored date of game with seton hall is 11/7. Only thing there- it's 4 days before the start of the season. So that's a no go- the NCAA isn't going to open up that can of worms again.....
