well with the final 4 set the units are all earned for this year...
Big East winds up with 12 units. doesn't sound like much, until you realize that the year that is coming off the books for the Big East is only 4 units.

next year the Big East will be getting paid for 46 units. Just raw that is # 7. If you go per team though, it's #6.

If you look at what is guaranteed over 6 years- Big East is #5.
1 Big 12 27.2 per school
2 Big Ten 25.14
3 ACC 24.93
4 Pac 12 18.92
5 Big East 18.50
6 AAC 15.73
7 SEC 14.57

if you look at raw units- earned 2011-13 vs 2014-16
BE is 3rd biggest gain. #1 is ACC obviously at +21. P12 is #2 at +15. BE is 3rd at +12. Big 12 is 4th at +8. No one else is more than +2.

What is great for the Big East is there's still room to grow I feel. Given how we've I'm not going to say bombed in the tourney, but not done our best- it's possible to get another 3-4 units a year I think....

1 unit = $260K every year for 6 years, correct?

So 1 unit = $1.5 mill over 6 years
12 units = $18 mill this year total over the 6 years?

Not bad.

I think it's actually up to around $265k now actually......

so it's actually $19 million just for this season. After last year which was 11 units.

Can't be said enough how big Villanova's run is, not only shutting up idiot talking heads and fifth-rate, un-paid bloggers, but also having actual units, dollars, MOMENTUM. This surely will only light the fire under all school presidents, ADs, Coaches and donors. Not having any football-obsessed athletic directors AT ALL in our conference, and conversely having intensely passionate Basketball-first ADs with all the resources they need, will surely keep the ball rolling. We will look back on the 2015-16 Wildcats as the START of something huge.

Dickie V went nuts over how the ACC was going to be earning $30 mill and how amazing that was and blah blah blah (it might be more now with two final fours)

But they have 15 teams splitting $30 mill, and that was considered amazing at the time (again, I think they got more at the end).
We have 10 teams splitting $19 mill, so pretty much the same per team, and not a peep

The ACC is going to be splitting about $40 mill, not $30 mill....

Only the Big 12 is close to them per team this year.... Would have been more than the ACC but [sarcasm]sadly[/sarcasm] Kansas lost to Nova.
