It seems as if the rush lately to designate Villanova as some sort of NCAA choker because of consecutive second-round losses over the past two years carried the scent of condescension toward the Big East. There seemed to be an effort to contain the Wildcats and their league partners to some sort of area off the stage, something one can expect the league might wish to aggressively counter as it seeks to enforce the value of its brand.

I mean, let’s remember, Kansas had Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre over the previous two years, lost each time in the second round and was not transformed into a national punch line. Nor should it have been. But that was how the Wildcats were treated.

The sigh of relief that Villanova fans must have after today must be unreal. Actually, the who league feels a lot better. Villanova is playing like a champion. They made Miami look like HS Varsity. Impressive. Dominance from the Beginning to end. The winner of MD/Kansas should be concerned after tonight.

I must be honest and say that I absolutely didn't expect this type of outing. I was hoping for a win. But I though it was going down to the wire. Proved wrong... and I hope I continue to be proved wrong. Best of luck to Villanova

Outstanding performance from Nova! Other Big East members definitely look to Nova as "our leader".

Now its time for our Blue Demons and others to really work on improving their programs to match Nova. Too much potential in all Big East programs = Top 5 Conference.

I never did have anything against Villanova. Just when their fans talk smack on my team, then I gotta try to smack back.
The only thing I could say was their failure in the NCAA tourny since 2010.

Villanova is the only B.E. team coming out of the 1st weekend, then spanked Miami last night. Only team repping the B.E.

I am over the SJU vs. Villanova nonsense on this board. Each fanbase was going after the other fanbase's weak spots in that pissing match so obviously SJU fans were giving Villanova grief about coming up short in the tournament since 2009. It is what it is. We are fans from 2 old school Big East teams that have a lot of history and since we care about our programs we are obviously going to go to bat for our teams when somebody tries to talk smack. I got nothing but love for the Johnnies and I am already looking forward to games at Carnesecca next year. Yes, I enjoy going to Carnesecca more than the Garden sometimes because I enjoy the old school feel.
