the thing I've loved about Nova is how they finally have stopped totally relying on the 3 pointer...
last 2 games they are an incredible 20-34 from 3 point range. 58.8%. But they are 44-71 from 2 point range. So even with them shooting 59% from 3 point range, they've only taken 34/105 shots from 3 point range- only 32.4%....

now consider this- in the losses this year that Nova had....
159 2's shot, 143 3's shot- or 47.4% of their shots
last year- 3 losses- 85 2's shot, 75 3's shot- or 46.9% of their shots

so I think it's just huge even with how stupid hot Nova is shooting the 3, they aren't relying on the shot anywhere near as much as they used to.

I know during the heat of conference play Arch is one of those players that is easy to hate. His style of play, his lack of athleticism, etc. He got a lot of heat on HLOH for simply being recognized by other conference coaches as CO-POY with Dunn last year, when many thought that was a HUGE injustice. I think other coaches recognized what we Nova fans, who have watched him for 4 years, have witnessed. The kid can't be compared to a Dunn, Whitehead, Bentil, or Ellenson in terms of physical tools or who will be a pro. But the kid is a serious gamer and is a GREAT college player. He plays the game hard 100% of the time, and just does anything needed for this team to win. I am so happy that he is having an opportunity to show what kind of player he is on a national stage.
Go Nova!

Villanova is playing to win. They're aggressive and smart. In recent tourneys they've been playing to "not lose", getting tentative.

Last night they were clearly the better team. Miami was trying to play rough in the second half, bodying the Cats, but that's not going to work against a Big East team. Villanova was unfazed and torched them. Perfect basketball.
