the seeding this year made no sense and we're seeing proof. no way SFA team I watched that dismantled WVU press yesterday is a 14th seed. and mid tenn that led MSU wire to wire is a 15th seed. these are not your david vs goliath buzzer beating upsets. these are good ol sound beating.

the solution is so simple but it involves disbanding the Selection Cmt as it is known today and replace the committee with an artificial intelligent thinking computer. The data exists to pick the right teams and how to seed them. Countless experts called most likely upsets in round 1 & 2, including but not limited to SFAustin, Yale, & Wichita St and did so by crunching data built throughout the season. In the world of data collection college basketball is small time yet perfectly matched for AI and it would put the biased Committee members out of the business of trading favors with each other.

I watched the Wisconsin Pitt game...it was ugly. I couldn't drink enough to be entertained...and I drink a lot.

look at SF Austin's OOC schedule and that'll tell you why they were a 14 seed.
They played 8 OOC games vs D1 schools....
Baylor- lost by 42
Northern Iowa- lost by 10
W Michigan- won by 8
Tulane- lost by 1
App St- won by 10
Texas Southern- won by 4
Arizona St- lost by 7
UAB- lost by 10
so 8 games and went 3-5 vs them. Then their conference was #29

So how exactly did they earn anything other than a 14 seed?

Mid Tennessee kind of the same thing.

I knew you were going to post something like that stever. that's exactly what's wrong with how these seedings take place. it's all about #s and metrics. no human intelligence on the makeup of the team and how they play. I bet SFA would beat WVA more times than not if they play 10 games head to head. they are simply the better team.

and people just look at WVA's records and gets impressed with # of quality wins. well most of those wins come against the fellow B12 opponents, which as a whole is looking like the most overrated bunch in the tourney. they failed to see the big flaw in WVA. no set offense or playmaker whatsoever. their best offense is throw it up and get after it on the board. if their press doesn't work and they can't get easy bucket, they are an awful team and it showed yesterday.

But look at the 13 line even. SF Austin accomplished far less than any of those teams- Iona, Hawaii, UNC Wilmington, Stony Brook. What SFA did in the season just wasn't as good as what those schools did. Just wasn't.

ACC with a chance at 6 Sweet 16 teams with #7 Dayton the highest seeded team beaten to get there........Of course I'm expecting Providence and Butler to blow that up.

Its the ACC's world, we are just living in it.

The AAC is about to bow completely out of the tourney with a 1-4 record. Utah getting smoked by Gonzaga, leaving Oregon as the lone Pac-12 left. Pac-12 going to have a 2-6 record at this point.
