Um, no. The only way they would have been is if they had won their auto bid. You say well if their OOC schedule was better. If their OOC schedule is better, they would have gotten in via the Big East. So maybe they would have had a better shot in a weaker league- but like we saw with a lot of the top teams in the weaker leagues- 1 single game can be a very pressured thing with no guarantee at all...

- played 10 games vs Big East NCAA teams, to Vandy’s 4 games vs SEC NCAA teams.
- played 4 games vs teams 9-10 of Big East, to Vandy’s 8 games vs SEC teams 9-14.
